Man possesses an innate hunger for knowledge and in particular, for truth. Our greatest desire is for understanding the how and why of our own being. Of particular concern is what happens to us when the physical body dies, when we are no longer an active component of this plane of existence we find ourselves in. Universally, we are striving toward an eternity of bliss, a state of absolute and lasting good health, happiness, and contentment. We refer to this state by various terms, Heaven, Paradise, Nirvana, etc. And we have devised various plans by which this may be achieved. In doing so we have divided ourselves into numerous belief systems. For the most part, each of us believes that our own belief system is the righteous path to the goal to the exclusion of other belief systems. The human soul knows that all life emanated from a single source. For convenience, and though there are numerous terms used, we refer to that source as God. The human soul also knows that all men have come into being via that single source, God. Before any one of us can assume that we are on a return path to God, we must answer this question: "Is my God the God of all men? Is my God the same God as that of the Christian, the Jew, the Buddhist, the Taoist, the Muslim?" If your answer is "Yes," then you are on the right path. If your answer is "No," then you need to change paths. If your soul has not asked, then you have much work to do.

Each moment is an opportunity to further the growth of your mind and the growth of your spirit. Will you choose to evolve or choose to regress? Don't be weighed down by illusions of despair, anxiety, depression or anger. These so-called devils strip from you the moment and the experience, making you see it through their eyes, filtering out all positive or evolvement opportunities. Do not view your current reality through the eyes of an illusory self. Wake up from the dream of reality. It is not existing independent of your experience. It relies on your experience to become. It's not until you integrate the outside reality into your psyche that an experience takes place, but it's filtered by all of the chemicals that revolve around your remembered experiences. This means that it sees what it remembers to be true and real. This is the illusion you must break. What's real is now. The moment. Everything in the past was once the moment and everything in the future will eventually be the moment. Everything else is an illusion that you were programmed to believe from the beginning. Well, it's time for an upgrade.

The definitive biography of the revolutionary band Nirvana and its star-crossed frontman Kurt Cobain, hailed by Rolling Stone as “the first [book] to comprehensively tell the band’s tale from Aberdeen, Wash., to world domination” “Amazingly raw and candid . . . an unsparing and extremely honest depiction of the group’s highly tumultuous history . . . Come As You Are is as good as rock bios get.”—Billboard “Just tell the truth. That’ll be better than anything else that’s been written about me.”—Kurt Cobain Nirvana came out of nowhere in 1991 to sell nearly five million copies of their landmark album Nevermind, whose thunderous sound and indelible melodies embodied all the confusion, frustration, and passion of the emerging Generation X. Come As You Are is the close-up, intimate story of Nirvana—the only book with exclusive in-depth interviews with bandmembers Kurt Cobain, Krist Noveselic, and Dave Grohl, as well as friends, relatives, former bandmembers, and associates—now updated to include a final chapter detailing the last year of Kurt Cobain's life, before his tragic suicide in April 1994. Vivid, evocative, and thought-provoking, Come As You Are is an essential document not just for Nirvana fans but for anyone interested in the cultural legacy of the 1990s.

The Nirvana Express written by Mick Brown and has been published by Hurst Publishers this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 2023-09-07 with Religion categories.

In 1897, an Indian yogi named Bava Lachman Dass exhibited himself at the Westminster Aquarium in London, demonstrating forty-eight yoga positions to a bemused audience. Four years earlier, Hindu philosopher Swami Vivekananda had spoken at the first World Parliament of Religions in Chicago, where theosophist Annie Besant rhapsodised about 'his inborn sense of worth' and the 'exquisite beauty' of his spiritual message. The Victorians had conflicted views on the religious beliefs and practices of the Indian sub-continent, blending fascination and suspicion. But within two generations, legions of young Westerners would be following the 'hippie trail' to India, and the Beatles would be meditating at the feet of the guru Maharishi Mahesh Yogi. Journalist Mick Brown's vivid account charts the eccentric history of the West's evolving love affair with Indian religion through a curious cast of scholars, seekers, charlatans and saints. From Edwin Arnold, whose epic poem about the life of the Buddha became a best-seller in Victorian Britain, to the occultist and magician Aleister Crowley; and from spiritual teachers Jiddu Krishnamurti, Meher Baba and Ramana Maharshi to the controversial guru Rajneesh, 'The Nirvana Express' is an exhilarating, sometimes troubling journey through the West's search for enlightenment.

On a beautiful spring day in 2002, Lee Carlson's life was transformed forever when he was hit by a careless, speeding driver. Father, husband, writer, son all that was about to change. Several days later he woke up in a hospital with a new identity: Traumatic Brain Injury Survivor. Unfortunately he knew all about Traumatic Brain Injury, or TBI. Just months before, his mother had fallen down a flight of basement stairs, crushing her brain and leaving her unable to walk, speak or feed herself. Passage to Nirvana tells the story of one person's descent into the hell of losing everything: family, home, health, even the ability to think and the slow climb back to a normal life. Told in a unique creative style brought on by the author's brain injury, combining short poems and essays in an interwoven, exuberant narrative, Passage to Nirvana recounts one person s struggle and ultimate joy at building a new life. The story takes the reader through Intensive Care Units, doctors offices and a profusion of therapy centers, eventually winding its way to sunlit oceans, quiet Zen meditation halls, white beaches, azure skies and a sailboat named Nirvana. Passage to Nirvana is a memoir, a treasury of Zen teachings and a sailor s yarn all rolled into one. Passage to Nirvana is an illustrative tale about finding a path to happiness after a traumatic life event, a book that will teach you about the Poetry of Living.
