Whether you are responsible for planning, implementing, and evaluating peer and prevention programs or simply an outside consultant or evaluator, this book will be an essential guide for your work. This user-friendly training manual provides a blueprint of a step-by-step approach to setting-up an evaluation program that guides you through the planning, development, implementation, data collection, and organization stages, and then communicating the results to others. The authors establish a rationale for program evaluation, explaining how it differs from research, and discuss ways to align the vision, mission, and goals of a program. They then describe several approaches to evaluation and methods for successfully collecting and analyzing data. Methods for reporting the results are also considered and numerous forms and charts are provided to assist with and illustrate the organization, evaluation, and reporting of data. An accompanying CD contains guidelines, handouts, and forms that can be reproduced for your own use in evaluation.

Taking Charge Of Change written by Shirley M. Hord and has been published by this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 1987 with Curriculum change categories.

"This book provides diagnostic techniques for assessing the needs of school personnel involved in implementing new innovations for school improvement. Using the Concerns Based Adoption Model (CBAM) as a framework, it discusses the roles and personal needs of the people involved in the change process and provides strategies for the total management of an innovation. The first strategy offers ways to introduce the change or innovation and to monitor the variety and diversity of implementation. A component checklist for determining the range of operational patterns found in classrooms is described. In the second strategy, seven stages of concern experienced by teachers involved in the change process are identified, and suggestions are given on how to deliver interventions that will respond to each stage of concern. The concept of the innovation's levels of use provides the third strategy, which identifies the degree to which teachers are using the new practices. It is noted that this tool is useful for assisting teachers to move to higher levels of use as well as for evaluating the progress of the change implementation effort. Numerous figures supplement the text. (JD)"--ERIC dbase.

Alternative Schools written by Brenda Edgerton Conley and has been published by Bloomsbury Publishing USA this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 2002-11-22 with Education categories.

An examination of the growth and development of alternative schools in American society and their role in the public school environment. In Alternative Schools: A Reference Handbook, educator Brenda Edgerton Conley surveys the emerging alternatives to our conventional educational system—a system that is not only costly, but ineffective for many children. In a resource aimed at a broad audience—school administrators, politicians, and, most important, parents—Conley offers both a historical and a present-day perspective on alternative educational programs. What sets the alternative education movement apart, she argues, is its acknowledgment that we all learn differently. That knowledge has given rise to an explosion of exciting alternatives—from open schools to home schooling, from charter schools to church schools. These alternative schools are smaller and less bureaucratic, more responsive to the community, and more receptive to change.
