Facharbeit (Schule) aus dem Jahr 2018 im Fachbereich Musik - Sonstiges, Note: 1.13, , Sprache: Deutsch, Abstract: Diese Arbeit analysiert die von Howard Shore komponierte Musik zum Film "Der Herr der Ringe". Wie hat es Howard Shore geschafft, eine so erfolgreiche Filmmusik wie die von "Der Herr der Ringe" zu erschaffen? Wie hat er sich auf dieses riesige fiktive Universum eingestellt? Wie hat er die verschiedenen Rassen und Völker in der Musik dargestellt? Diese und viele weitere Fragen beantworte ich in meiner Arbeit. Für mich stehen dabei primär die Charakteristika der Völker, welche der "Der Herr der Ringe"-Autor Tolkien kreiert hat und die Umsetzung dieser Charakteristika in die Filmmusik durch Shore im Vordergrund. Außerdem werfe ich ein Auge darauf, wie oder ob sich die Musik bei Veränderungen im Film, zum Beispiel von Völkern oder Personen, mitentwickelt. Diese Filmmusik ist zum Teil ein Erbe des Komponisten Richard Wagner. Er hatte zu seiner Zeit die Leitmotiv-Technik revolutioniert und mit der Oper "Der Ring des Nibelungen" einen Grundbaustein für die Filmmusik gelegt. Die Leitmotiv-Technik ist auch in der "Der Herr der Ringe"-Filmmusik zu finden. Auch Shores Forschungen zur Musik und Instrumenten fremder Kulturen werden mit Sicherheit ein wichtiges Fundament des Erfolgs sein. Einige dieser Instrumente brachte er neu in die Orchester- und Filmmusik ein. Bei der Analyse der Filmmusik wird schnell klar, was für einen großen Anteil das gesamte Mittelerde-Universum sowie seine Geschichte auf das Gesamtwerk Shores hat. Die Filmmusik von "Der Herr der Ringe" ist legendär, ob man ein Fan von Fantasyfilmen sein mag oder nicht. Man kann diese Filmmusik nicht kritisieren. Nur was ist alles zusammengekommen, dass so ein Meisterwerk entsteht? Die Maturaarbeit ist innerhalb eines Jahres in der dritten und zum Teil vierten Klasse der Kantonsschule entstanden. Da ich ein großer Fan von "Der Herr der Ringe" und generell der Filmmusik von Howard Shore bin, habe ich diese Maturaarbeit mit großer Freude geschrieben. Ich hoffe, dass Sie in diese Welt mit eintauchen können.
