When I began working on my adult coloring books, I gave my daughter several of the pages to try alongside me. She loved them immediately. We sat side-by-side and worked on the patterns and shapes together. She would slide her page over to me and show me what she'd chosen to color, which colors she'd selected, and how her page was taking shape. I gave some early pages to a friend to try out and she found her kids were as drawn to the shapes and patterns of the book as my daughter was. She suggested a companion children's coloring book that contained simpler patterns for children to color along-side parents, grandparents, aunts and uncles, or sitters. And so, this collection was born! This book contains several of the simpler patterns that show up in volumes one through three of the adult version, as well as new shapes just for the kiddos. So, grab your pencils, markers, or brushes and get to work! You've got some stress reducing to do.This book contains 42 images printed on one side of the page only. It contains an extra wide inside margin to allow for easier removal of the pages for coloring.

Ralph Waldo Emerson was an American essayist, poet, philosopher, pastor, lecturer, and public figure. During his life, he was one of the most prominent thinkers and writers in the United States with his work remaining influential today. In the late 19th century, after the death of Benjamin Franklin, it was Emerson who filled the role of thinker, motivator, and spiritual guide for the American nation. While he was the mentor and friend of Henry David Thoreau, he was viewed by most liberals of his generation as their spiritual leader. The admiration was well deserved: he was the first thinker to formulate the philosophy of transcendentalism. Emerson’s writings influenced the work of Friedrich Nietzsche, Maurice Maeterlinck, Charles Baudelaire, and Leo Tolstoy. Literary Impressionism written by Rebecca Bowler and has been published by Bloomsbury Publishing this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 2016-09-22 with Literary Criticism categories.

With its new innovations in the visual arts, cinema and photography as well as the sciences of memory and perception, the early twentieth century saw a crisis in the relationship between what was seen and what was known. Literary Impressionism charts that modernist crisis of vision and the way that literary impressionists such as Dorothy Richardson, Ford Madox Ford, H.D., and May Sinclair used new concepts of memory in order to bridge the gap between perception and representation. Exploring the fiction of these four major writers as well as their journalism, manifesto writings, letters and diaries from the archives, Rebecca Bowler charts the progression of modernism's literary aesthetics and the changing role of memory within it.

Making Theory Constructing Art written by Daniel Herwitz and has been published by University of Chicago Press this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 1993-11 with Art categories.

Artists and critics regularly enlist theory in their creation and assessment of artworks, but few have scrutinized the art theories themselves. Making Theory/Constructing Art: On the Authority of the Avant-Garde is among the first philosophical texts to provide a close encounter with this theoretical tendency in twentieth-century art and aesthetics, exploring the norms, assumptions, historical conditions, and institutions that have framed the development and uses of theory in art. In a series of intricate readings of constructivism, Mondrian, and John Cage, Daniel Herwitz outlines the avant-garde's belief that theory can perfectly prefigure the avant-garde art object and invest it with utopian force. Through similarly insightful treatments of Arthur Danto, Andy Warhol, Jean-Francois Lyotard, Jean Baudrillard, and postmodern art and theory, Herwitz demonstrates how the contemporary art world is heir to the avant-garde's theoretical assumptions and practices. In fact, avant-garde art objects live as art only by partly resisting the master theories of their makers and interpreters. Skillfully resisting the lure of grand theory himself, Herwitz urges the art world to be more self-critical and self-reflective about its uses of theory. Making Theory/Constructing Art is as accessible and entertainingly written as it is philosophically incisive. Since the book is both a philosophical and a cultural encounter with theory in twentieth-century art, it will engage all those who have tried to grapple with the inscrutability of the theoretical art muse.
