Lebih jauh dari itu, bahasa jurnalistik bicara tentang aturan, etika, karakteristik, dan lainnya. Buku ini berjudul “Bahasa Jurnalistik: Aplikasinya dalam Penulisan Karya Jurnalistik di Media Cetak, Televisi, dan Media Online”. Pemberian judul agar pembaca memahami bagaimana praktik berbahasa tidak hanya di karya jurnalistik berita (news) tetapi karya jurnalistik berbentuk opini (views). Di sisi lain, berbagai buku bahasa jurnalistik yang beredar di pasaran hanya mengeksplorasi aspek berbahasa dalam jurnalistik semata– yang bahkan cenderung mengarah ke pembahasan Bahasa Indonesia–tanpa menunjukkan secara praktikal penggunaannya untuk berbagai karya jurnalistik dan media jurnalistik (surat kabar/majalah, televisi, radio, dan media online) yang ada. Padahal dua faktor tersebut (faktor karya jurnalistik dan media jurnalistik) memberikan ciri pembeda dalam praktik penggunaan bahasa jurnalistik.
