Character Animation Before you animate the characters and objects in your scene, set up the scene by rigging all your characters and by applying the appropriate constraints and deformers to all the objects you want to animate. Rigging a character, also known as character setup, involves creating skeletons and IK handles for your characters, binding skins to the skeletons, and setting up deformers and constraints. You can also create deformers for your character and animate them to produce effects; for example, the jiggling belly (jiggle deformer), furrowing brow (wire deformer), and flexing biceps (lattice deformer) of a sumo wrestler model. Non-character objects are also very important to bringing your scene to life. You can limit and control the transformations of objects by constraining them to characters or other models in your scene. You can also create deformers for objects to create complex deformation effects. For example, you can apply a squash deformer to the model of a ball and then parent constrain the ball to the hands of a character. With this setup, you can key the weights of the character’s hands and the squash deformer’s attributes to create an animation of the character bouncing the ball from hand to hand while the ball squashes on the ground and stretches as it rises back into the air. In addition to setting up characters and objects for animation, you can set up Maya® Dynamics™ for animation. You can constrain dynamic objects such as particle emitters, fields, and fluids to objects or characters in your scene. For more information, see nDynamics Simulation Framework and Fluid Effects.

Essential Skills In Character Rigging written by Nicholas Bernhardt Zeman and has been published by A K PETERS this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 2017-11-15 with categories.

Character rigging is the method with which you create a system for animating a character. A rig is represented by two primary mechanics: the skeleton, consisting of hierarchical rotations to drive the motions, and a skin, or method of deforming the geometry that makes up the character model. Essential Skills in Character Rigging is a beginners guide to learning and understanding the essential aspects of character setup, evaluation, skeletal construction, and deformation. Borrowing from the authors extensive experience in the field, it presents the primary theories, constructs, and objectives for constructing a basic rig from the ground up, just as it would be done in a professional studio. The book explains the basic elements of hierarchies, skeletons, kinematics, deformation, skinning, and creating relationships between nodes. It gives hands-on experience with taking a completed character model and setting it up with a skeleton with kinematics and soft-skin deformation. It also gives specific instructions on using inverse kinematics systems, and how to set up the essential mechanics of a human rig with these systems. All of these lessons are conducted using a simplistic, conversational style that keeps technical and mathematical jargon to a minimum. The book also includes video tutorials corresponding to specific modules. Essential Skills in Character Rigging takes aspiring character artists through the vital components in the process of taking a 3D character model and turning it into an animatable rig that is ready for production in film or games. It identifies the universal fundamentals at work behind character rigging, and the practical complexities of the process are broken down into simple steps that are easy to comprehend and execute.

Bacca is back! YouTube sensation JeromeASF’s beloved character returns for a Minecrafter’s adventure thousands of years in the making! A massive zombies-versus-skeletons war has broken out in Minecraft, threatening to engulf and destroy the entire Overworld, and there’s only one furry creature clever enough to stop it. Always a great teacher of crafting, as the conflict breaks out, Bacca is tutoring his first zombie student—a young crafter named Dug—and decides to take his pupil with him on this important quest. Together they discover that the skeletons have stolen an ancient sword from the zombies that has a powerful prophecy surrounding it, and the zombies will stop at nothing to get it back! The only problem is . . . the skeletons say they never took it in the first place! With hostilities building, Bacca and Dug must follow the clues and use their crafting skills to discover the true fate of the missing sword. From a coven of conniving witches, to a giant wolf, to the highest echelons of skeleton and zombie royalty, Bacca and Dug will encounter some of Minecraft’s most memorable characters as they follow their noses ever closer to the missing sword. Sky Pony Press, with our Good Books, Racehorse and Arcade imprints, is proud to publish a broad range of books for young readers—picture books for small children, chapter books, books for middle grade readers, and novels for young adults. Our list includes bestsellers for children who love to play Minecraft; stories told with LEGO bricks; books that teach lessons about tolerance, patience, and the environment, and much more. In particular, this adventure series is created especially for readers who love the fight of good vs. evil, magical academies like Hogwarts in the Harry Potter saga, and games like Minecraft, Terraria, and Pokemon GO. While not every title we publish becomes a New York Times bestseller or a national bestseller, we are committed to books on subjects that are sometimes overlooked and to authors whose work might not otherwise find a home.
