Distributed Intelligent Circuits And Systems written by Balwinder Baj and has been published by World Scientific this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 2024-03-06 with Technology & Engineering categories.

The main objective of this book is to provide insights into recent advances in distributed intelligent circuits, systems and their applications. Distributed intelligence is the key enabler for innovations in machine-to-machine communications. The innovations are directed towards keeping existing algorithms as the base and developing new intelligent systems by employing smart technologies. Artificial intelligence (AI) and, more specifically, deep learning (DL) are receiving significant attention in assisting doctors in the detection of disease patterns without much human intervention. In agriculture, robots automate slow, repetitive and dull tasks, allowing farmers to focus more on improving overall production yields. The evolving trends point to the interface of artificial intelligence with machines being a factor in enhancing the decision-making capabilities of smart machines. This book provides relevant theoretical frameworks that include basic models, algorithms, circuit designs and the latest developments in experimental aspects in the field of distributed intelligence systems for industrial applications. The challenges encountered in the development of models for distributed intelligence systems for environmental monitoring are mitigated with artificial intelligence, machine learning and deep learning. This book identifies challenges and helps in applying solutions in the development of advanced intelligent systems for environmental monitoring.

Towards User Centric Transport In Europe 3 written by Imre Keseru and has been published by Springer Nature this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 2023-03-30 with Technology & Engineering categories.

This book gathers contributions to the EU-funded Horizon 2020 project INDIMO (Inclusive Digital Mobility Solutions), its sister projects DIGNITY (Digital Transport in and for Society) and TRIPS (Transport Innovation for Persons with Disabilities Needs Satisfaction), which have been focusing on making transport systems inclusive and accessible for all. Digitalization has enabled the emergence and proliferation of novel, ‘disruptive’ transport and delivery services. These services are often exclusively only available through digital channels such as a smartphone app or website. Yet a substantial segment of the population is at risk of being excluded from these services for a variety of reasons. Therefore, it is strongly necessary to integrate inclusivity and accessibility into the design and operation of mobility services. This book aims at discussing cases of and reasons for digital exclusion in transport. It also investigates the role of participatory and user-centric planning and design methods in making digital mobility more inclusive and accessible. Further, it discusses tools and technologies that could help policy makers to develop digital mobility as a more inclusive and accessible service. This is an open access book.

Urban Mobility sheds light on mobility in twenty-first-century Canadian cities. The book explores the profound changes associated with technological innovation, pandemic-induced impacts on travel behaviour, and the urgent need for mobility to respond meaningfully to the climate crisis. Featuring contributions from leading Canadian and American scholars and researchers, this edited collection traverses disciplines including geography, engineering, management, policy studies, political science, and urban planning. Chapters illuminate novel research findings related to a variety of modes of mobility, including public transit, e-scooters, bike-sharing, ride-hailing, and autonomous vehicles. Contributors draw out the connections between urban challenges, technological change, societal need, and governance mechanisms. The collection demonstrates why the smart phone, COVID-19, and climate present a crucial lens through which we can understand the present and future of urban mobility. The way we move in cities has been disrupted and altered because of technological innovation, the lingering impacts of COVID-19, and efforts to reduce transport-related emissions. Urban Mobility concludes that the path forward requires good public policy from all levels of government, working in partnership with the private sector and non-profits to direct and address the best urban mobility framework for Canadian cities.

The Transition To Smart Mobility written by Leander Kauschke and has been published by Springer Nature this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 2023-10-19 with Technology & Engineering categories.

Most contemporary notions of the fairly recent concept ‘smart mobility’ portray an imminent transition of similar socio-economic consequences as the shift from horses to automobiles did 100 years ago. Present book thus offers an in-depth look at the variables involved in the equation of smart mobility acceptance (1) and envisaged institutional change (2). Both views are embedded in the Multi-Level Perspective. Study 1 develops a structural equation model in SmartPLS. Use cases cover eBikes (N=537), mobility-as-a-service (N=531), and fully automated vehicles (N=558). Based on the results, acceptance relies on five factors: performance expectancy, facilitating conditions, social influence, habit, and hedonic motivation. Study 2 applies the Institutional Role Model (IRM) to better understand system dynamics. Thus, the smart mobility ecosystem is mapped in a structured manner. It identifies nine institutions, as well as four technical and four economic roles. Results of interviews with experts (N=8) support the IRM’s significance as a vision provider for a new mobility regime. In the end, these two perspectives amalgamate. This opens a sophisticated space for public debate about the commencing transition to smart mobility.
