This collection of short stories offers a fresh prespective of the global Indian experience in the 21st century, as seen through women's eyes. Here you will find stories written by women living and working in India, as well as stories written by those who live across the world, in places as far-flung as the United States of America, Switzerland, the United Kingdom, Indonesia and New Zealand amongst others. The stories speak of love, of anger, of sorrow, of desire as well as hope. They give voice to ideas of displacement and the art of making anew in unfamiliar spaces. Proudly and defiantly multicultural, these stories do not shirk away from disquieting themes which challenge the status quo and shine a light on social currents and topics which straddle the collision of idealism and reality. Everything, from the quest for emancipation to the looming threat of female foeticide to the stories of the every woman, as she asserts her identity in a new land to the stories of women who use their pasts to write their presents and even the story of those who have been affected by a hidden exodus. Every such tale has found a home within these pages. While many of these stories fall into the genre regarded as contemporary fiction, others are fine examples of sci-fi while yet others still, retell the tales of figures from mythology, reimagining them as they negotiate the trials and turbulences of modern life. These stories will resonate with every reader keen to support the voices of women more often written about, than writing.

She Speaks Her Anger Myths And Conversations Of Gimi Women written by Gillian Gillison and has been published by Springer Nature this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 2021-04-12 with Psychology categories.

Taking a novel approach that adapts Freud’s theory of the Primal Crime, this book examines a wealth of ethnographic data on the Gimi of the Eastern Highlands of Papua New Guinea, focusing on women’s lives, myths, and rituals. Women’s and men’s separate myths and rites may be ‘read’ as a cycle of blame about which sex caused the ills of human existence and is still at fault. However, the author demonstrates that in public rites of exchange in which both sexes participate, men appropriate and subvert women’s usages as a ritual strategy to ‘undo’ motherhood and confiscate children at puberty. In doing so, she reveals how Gimi women both rebel against the male-dominated social order and express understanding of why they also acquiesce. The result of decades of fieldwork, writing and reflection, this book offers an analysis of Gimi women’s complex understanding of their situation and presents a nuanced picture of women in a society dominated by men. It represents an important contribution to New Guinea ethnography that will appeal to students and scholars of psychoanalysis, gender studies, and cultural, social and psychoanalytic anthropology.

He Speaks In The Silence written by Diane Comer and has been published by Zondervan this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 2016-01-05 with Religion categories.

He Speaks in the Silence is about Diane Comer’s search for the kind of intimacy with God every woman longs for. It is a story of trying to be a good girl, of following the rules, of longing for a satisfaction that eludes us. Disappointed with all Diane had been told was supposed to fulfill her, she begged God in desperation to give her more. And He did. But first He took her through a trial so debilitating it almost destroyed what little faith she had. He let her go deaf. Using vivid parallels between her deafness and every woman’s struggle to hear God, this book shows women not only how Diane, as a deaf woman, hears in everyday life, but also how she can learn to listen to God in the midst of her own loud life, finding intimacy with God and the deep soul satisfaction she longs for.

He Speaks Through Her Too is a compilation of several powerful sermons that were preached by Jackson throughout the years. Jackson said her desire is for women to be accepted as God's spokespersons who only want to fulfill their calling. . . and that is to preach the Gospel of Jesus Christ. The calling is too powerful to be placed under a bushel. It is not a competition; it is just an act of obedience.

God wants to speak directly to each of His beloved children, not to just a few “spiritual elite.” Priscilla Shirer looks at God’s call to Samuel and uncovers six characteristics essential for hearing from God: A simple RELATIONSHIP, unfettered by sin or pride A single-minded WORSHIP, focused on God and His glory A set-apart HOLINESS, determined to live a life that honors Him A still ATTENTIVENESS, willing to be silent before Him A sold-out HUNGER, passionately pursuing God’s presence A servant SPIRIT, submitted to God’s call Her warmth and honesty, combined with a wealth of practical help, will inspire you to cultivate these traits in your own life. By doing so, you will prepare yourself to draw closer to Him and to hear His voice more clearly.
