Lukas Moodysson is one of the most accomplished and unconventional filmmakers of his generation in Sweden. Moodysson, now well known for his English-language film Mammoth (2009) as well as his heartbreaking indictment of sex-trafficking in Sweden, Lilya 4-Ever (2002), debuted as a writer and director while still in his twenties with Show Me Love (1998). The film received four Guldbaggar--the Swedish equivalent of the Academy Awards--including best film, best director, best screenplay, and best actresses. A coming-of-age and coming out film about two young women in a stiflingly oppressive small town, Show Me Love is widely considered a youth film classic and was called a "masterpiece" by Ingmar Bergman. This book, which is the first study of Moodysson in any language, includes discussions of the film's genre, aesthetics, and style, and situates the film in both contemporary Swedish cinema and broader Swedish culture. It includes sequence and dialogue analysis and discusses how and why this particular film became so important: its queer significance, its unusually realistic depiction of youth, and its critical reception. Anna Stenport conducted extensive interviews with the cast and crew, including several enlightening discussions with Moodysson himself. Lukas Moodysson's Show Me Love offers an incisive introduction to Moodysson for readers interested in contemporary film, as well as a history and close analysis of changes in the Swedish film industry.

Mercy Gogo Iwo Brown Mannasseh has a burning desire to enlighten our youths and impact on their lives. She’s on a mission to touch lives positively and help them live their best life. She has for long struggled with the question of what to do with her gifts of inspiration and motivation. Then PlayHouse was conceived. PlayHouse is a non-governmental organization whose main objective revolves around the youths. Every youth is given by Nature innate or in-born potentials that are seemingly dormant or buried in them. These potentials most often require to be activated by the right environment. It is, therefore, expedient that the right and suitable environment is given to bring out the best abilities from these youths. If a youth in the growing up years is not appropriately taught, instructed or directed, even the best potentials in that youth may be killed and never actualized. Working from the premise that every youth is significant, and every youth is unique, she organized a pool of Para Soccer teams in Rivers State. Under her leadership, the team has won many national competitions. The Rivers State Ministry of Sports and Youth Development formally inaugurated Para Soccer Association Rivers State Chapter which is affiliated to the Para Soccer Federation of Nigeria, in recognition of her unrelenting efforts at promoting not only the sportsmanship in these youth but also being passionately committed to their well-being. This has afforded her the privilege of a seat on the Nigeria’s National Sports Commission Board as member representing the South-South Region. No one being loved is poor. Love is never decreased when it’s being shared. One act of love can ignite many more acts of love. She has been made more powerful, imaginative and stronger by acts of love, as love is wealth in its own right. Doing acts of love is the safest and surest investment that returns infinite recompense of reward. It is the best asset much more precious than any material wealth. She has been loved deeply which has given her strength. She has loved deeply and this has given her courage to share the message of Teach Me Love.

Writing has taken over my life.. in a good way. My thoughts continually are geared towards my next song. Sometimes I get a few lines in my head when I am driving and I have to pull over the car and write them down! No matter where I am, I get the urge to write. I could be talking to a neighbor, or be in the middle of mass at church and a word or phrase will pop into my head and whoa! -a new song is born! More than anything I love, love, love, the peace of mind songwriting allows me to have. Most of my lyrics take me 15 to 30 minutes to write. There was a time when I was writing 6-8 lyrics in a day. Sometimes I would sit there and stare at my pencil asking why did you stop? I swear at times the pencil kept moving like I wasnt even thinking of what to write. This is my first edition. I hope to continue with future editions as I am still writing new songs everyday. Someday I hope to put my lyrics to my own music and I recently started taking piano lessons. Hey, we all know life is a learning process; a learning curve, we need to experience the turns with the ride! I wish you all success with this book and look forward to seeing some of you with me when it comes to award times!

Yayoi Kusama: Give Me Love documents the artist's most recent exhibition at David Zwirner, New York, which marked the US debut of The Obliteration Room, an all-white, domestic interior that viewers are invited to cover with dot stickers of various sizes and colors. Widely recognized as one of the most popular artists in the world, Yayoi Kusama has shaped her own narrative of postwar and contemporary art. Minimalism and Pop art, abstraction and conceptualism coincide in her practice, which spans painting, sculpture, performance, room-sized and outdoor installation, the written word, films, fashion, design, and architectural interventions. Born in 1929 in Matsumoto, Japan, Yayoi Kusama briefly studied painting in Kyoto before moving to New York City in the late 1950s. In the mid-1960s, she established herself in New York as an important avant-garde artist by staging groundbreaking happenings, events, and exhibitions. Now in her late 80s, Kusama is entering one of the richest creative periods of her life. Immersed in her studio six days a week, Kusama has spoken of her renewed dedication to creating art over the past years: “[N]ew ideas come welling up every day….Now I am more keenly aware of the time that remains and more in awe of the vast scope of art.” Taking The Obliteration Room as its centerpiece, this catalogue reveals, in vivid large-scale plates, the transformation of the space from a clean white interior to a stunningly saturated room, with ceilings, walls, and furniture covered in myriad multicolored stickers put there by viewers over the course of the exhibition. The catalogue also includes beautiful reproductions of Kusama's new large-format paintings from My Eternal Soul series. Ranging from bright and densely pixelated forms, to umber figures with darker blues and muted oranges, these paintings demonstrate the artist's striking command of color, and her exceptional control over balance and contrast. Bold brushstrokes hover between figuration and abstraction; vibrant, animated, and intense, these paintings introduce their own powerful pictorial logic, at once contemporary and universal. The catalogue continues with a selection of new, large Pumpkin sculptures, a form that Kusama has been exploring since her studies in Japan in the 1950s, and which gained prominence in the 1980s, continuing to remain an essential part of her practice. Made of shiny stainless steel and featuring painted dots or dot-shaped perforations that recall The Obliteration Room, these immersive works seem created on human scale, with the tallest measuring 70 inches (178 cm). Vibrant plates capture how color, shape, size, and surface merge in these sculptures and mesmerize the viewer. Texts include a "Hymn to Yayoi Kusama" by art critic and poet Akira Tatehata and a poem by the artist herself.
