The APMEN Atlas of Malaria-Eliminating Countries is intended to be a resource for national malaria programs to support the case for increased and/or sustained financing from national and international policy makers and donors. The APMEN Atlas also provides an opportunity to examine the malaria context of the Asia Pacific region, allowing an opportunity to identify similar challenges in transmission, vectors, and health and development status across regions of the world. The APMEN Atlas presents country level maps of some of the key determinants in high-level malaria control decision making. These key determinants include: Plasmodium falciparum and P. vivax transmission limits maps, refined with temperature and aridity data, provide an estimate of where the malaria risk is and classify risk into unstable and stable transmission; Human population density maps show where the population at risk of malaria live; Maps of the dominant malaria vector species together with summary bionomics data predict where each vector species occurs and how it is likely to behave.
