Bootstrap Techniques For Signal Processing written by Abdelhak M. Zoubir and has been published by Cambridge University Press this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 2004-05-06 with Technology & Engineering categories.

The statistical bootstrap is one of the methods that can be used to calculate estimates of a certain number of unknown parameters of a random process or a signal observed in noise, based on a random sample. Such situations are common in signal processing and the bootstrap is especially useful when only a small sample is available or an analytical analysis is too cumbersome or even impossible. This book covers the foundations of the bootstrap, its properties, its strengths and its limitations. The authors focus on bootstrap signal detection in Gaussian and non-Gaussian interference as well as bootstrap model selection. The theory developed in the book is supported by a number of useful practical examples written in MATLAB. The book is aimed at graduate students and engineers, and includes applications to real-world problems in areas such as radar and sonar, biomedical engineering and automotive engineering.

Military Laser Technology For Defense written by Alastair D. McAulay and has been published by John Wiley & Sons this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 2011-04-20 with Technology & Engineering categories.

Recent advances in ultra-high-power lasers, including the free-electron laser, and impressive airborne demonstrations of laser weapons systems, such as the airborne laser, have shown the enormous potential of laser technology to revolutionize 21st century warfare. Military Laser Technology for Defense, includes only unclassified or declassified information. The book focuses on military applications that involve propagation of light through the atmosphere and provides basic relevant background technology. It describes high-power lasers and masers, including the free-electron laser. Further, Military Laser Technology for Defense addresses how laser technology can effectively mitigate six of the most pressing military threats of the 21st century: attack by missiles, terrorists, chemical and biological weapons, as well as difficulty in imaging in bad weather and threats from directed beam weapons and future nuclear weapons. The author believes that laser technology will revolutionize warfare in the 21st century.

Sensor Management In Isr written by Kenneth J. Hintz and has been published by Artech House this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 2020-02-29 with Technology & Engineering categories.

This innovative resource is the first book that partitions the intelligence, surveillance and reconnaissance (ISR) sensor management process into partitioned functions that can be studied and optimized independently of each other through defined conceptual interfaces. The book explains the difference between situation information and sensor information and how to compute both. The information-based sensor management (IBSM) approach to real-time orchestrated resource management (ORM) of intelligence, surveillance, and reconnaissance (ISR) assets in the physical, cyber, and social domains are detailed. The integrating concept of mission value through use of goal lattice (GL) methodology is explored. Approaches to implementing real-time sensor management (SM) systems by applying advanced information-based approaches that consider contextual situation and optimization of diverse sensor capabilities for information-based objectives are also covered. These methods have applications in physical intelligence, surveillance, and reconnaissance (ISR), as well as in cyber, and social domains. Based on 30 years of research in developing a mission-valued approach to maximizing the transfer of information from real, cyber, and social environments into a mission-valued, probabilistic representation of that environment on which decision makers can formulate actions, this is the only book that addresses real-time management of ISR from a first principles approach (information theory), and how information theory can be applied to the design and development of ISR systems.

Advances In Statistical Multisource Multitarget Information Fusion written by Ronald P.S. Mahler and has been published by Artech House this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 2014-08-01 with Technology & Engineering categories.

This is the sequel to the 2007 Artech House bestselling title, Statistical Multisource-Multitarget Information Fusion. That earlier book was a comprehensive resource for an in-depth understanding of finite-set statistics (FISST), a unified, systematic, and Bayesian approach to information fusion. The cardinalized probability hypothesis density (CPHD) filter, which was first systematically described in the earlier book, has since become a standard multitarget detection and tracking technique, especially in research and development. Since 2007, FISST has inspired a considerable amount of research, conducted in more than a dozen nations, and reported in nearly a thousand publications. This sequel addresses the most intriguing practical and theoretical advances in FISST, for the first time aggregating and systematizing them into a coherent, integrated, and deep-dive picture. Special emphasis is given to computationally fast exact closed-form implementation approaches. The book also includes the first complete and systematic description of RFS-based sensor/platform management and situation assessment.

Many current AI and machine learning algorithms and data and information fusion processes attempt in software to estimate situations in our complex world of nested feedback loops. Such algorithms and processes must gracefully and efficiently adapt to technical challenges such as data quality induced by these loops, and interdependencies that vary in complexity, space, and time. To realize effective and efficient designs of computational systems, a Systems Engineering perspective may provide a framework for identifying the interrelationships and patterns of change between components rather than static snapshots. We must study cascading interdependencies through this perspective to understand their behavior and to successfully adopt complex system-of-systems in society. This book derives in part from the presentations given at the AAAI 2021 Spring Symposium session on Leveraging Systems Engineering to Realize Synergistic AI / Machine Learning Capabilities. Its 16 chapters offer an emphasis on pragmatic aspects and address topics in systems engineering; AI, machine learning, and reasoning; data and information fusion; intelligent systems; autonomous systems; interdependence and teamwork; human-computer interaction; trust; and resilience.
