Everyone has a deep dark secret and mine is revealed in this book. Child abuse of any kind is not acceptable in any society and needs to be brought out into the open to prosecute these evildoers so severely that maybe one day this will end. Children need to be taught by parents, as well as teachers, not to be afraid to come forward and tell. We reach the age of reason at seven years old, so we know right from wrong. The problem is intimidation by the adult causing fear in the child so the child will not tell anyone their special secret. It is harder than you think to tell anyone for fear of them not believing you, for fear of them calling you a little troublemaker, for fear of being rejected by family members if you open your mouth. Back in the 1950s and a60s people didnat speak of such things happening. You cannot talk about it but it stays with you, it haunts you until you cannot take it any longer so you must tell someone or do something before you burst. In my case, it is over and done with, as the person who did this horrible thing to me is now dead and gone. I am not sorry that he is dead, because I know he can no longer hurt any more children and the world is a much better place without him. If he did have the opportunity to abuse other children, I am not aware of it. I figured I was his prime target and I served his purpose and I kept my mouth shut. Maybe that is why God chose me to protect other children from being abused by him. Whatever the reason, the secret is out now, so let the truth finally be told in this book. If my book helps just one child/adult come forth and prosecute the one who inflicted the wound, it is worth my time of putting this in writing.

This is a true story about the abuse, neglect, and the survival of five small children, what they had to endure and cope with throughout the years when they should have been loved, but were not. I am taking the time to write this book, for all the children that weren't and may not be as fortunate as we were. Therefore, I dedicate this book to them and to my brothers and sister who have since passed away.I hope this book will help others understand what happens to the less fortunate children in our society, even though as you read my book, you may find yourself sad and in awe.All too often children are not as fortunate as we are and will not live through the horrors and the trails life will set before them, leaving their stories never to be heard. Therefore, I write my story in their honor. Many times in our young lives, the hard times seemed to be insurmountable. Nevertheless, with the help of good friends and family, along with good old-fashion hard work and a little imagination, along with ingenuity, often things that may have been impossible, are now possible. This is why I tell people "never say never," because the impossible is only an idea that has yet to be done.I have always felt that to try and fail is not the mark of a failure, but to see something as being impossible before you have ever tried, is truly marking yourself to be a failure. Courage is not the absence of fear; it is having the strength to do what is necessary for spite of fear.

The Silent Cry written by Margaret A. Pitts and has been published by AuthorHouse this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 2003 with Deaf categories.

Margaret gives searing and compelling insights into the isolated world of one deaf child who grew up in an era uneducated about deafness. The results were the very tragic consequences that shaped her life. The Silent Cry is a shocking story of molestation and abandonment, neglect and a multitude of falsely diagnosed mental illnesses. As a child, Margaret could not hear and her speech was unintelligible. These problems made it impossible for her to communicate with those around her. She then attended a school for the deaf and learned her primary language-American Sign Language, thus enabling her to communicate with peers and teachers. Her family was not willing to learn American Sign Language and this further compounded her awareness of isolation in a hearing world. She much later learned English, however, it is not her primary language as many like to believe. Because of her Deaf boyfriend?s suicide attempt, she was suddenly compelled to leave Delavan, Wisconsin School for the Deaf. The school has served deaf and hard of hearing students in the state of Wisconsin since 1852. WSD has an average annual enrollment of 180 students in grades pre-K through 12th. WSD stresses quality of service to students and parents. We focus on meeting the needs of students with disabilities in the areas of academic, adaptive education, vocational and social skills development. When she was pushed into a hearing world without verbal or writing communication skills at the age of eighteen, she was not able to blend in. Finally, she determined that she was abandoned on the streets where she was preyed upon by pimps who force her into prostitution. This is a chilling account of the exploitation of a person with a disability, but it is also a story of remarkable courage and triumph of the human spirit. A Truly amazing transformation! The work ends with the author's nervous and joyful reunion with self-awareness and self-confidence. It is also a beautiful love story involving many cultures. The main cultures consist of two different languages, two difference races, and the bridges built between them making this story unique.

How many policemen does it take to cause the death of 1,000 people in custody? Apparently none. Justice is blind, but how deaf is it? Silent Cry, by Madani Younis, unashamedly tackles the issues that face a family that verge on imploding, and tells the story of a mother's journey that begins as her son's life ends. A death in police custody leads to an ordinary family looking for justice from a system that has no answers. The story is based on true documented evidence and interviews. Each performance is followed by an after show discussion with the writer/director and cast. This is a bold piece with innovative use of music and movement, creating spectacularly gripping theatre. Silent Cry was produced by The Asian Theatre School and Red Ladder Theatre.
