And sometimes there's more to a simple thing than first appears. In Simplexity, Time senior writer Jeffrey Kluger shows how a drinking straw can save thousands of lives, how a million cars can be on the streets but just a few hundred of them can lead to gridlock, how investors behave like atoms; how arithmetic governs abstract art and physics drives jazz, and why swatting a TV indeed makes it work better. This book explores the critical role of acquisition, application, enhancement, and management of knowledge and human competence in the context of the largely digital and data/information dominated modern world. Whilst humanity owes much of its achievements to the distinct capability to learn from observation, analyse data, gain insights, and perceive beyond original realities, the systematic treatment of knowledge as a core capability and driver of success has largely remained the forte of pedagogy. In an increasingly intertwined global community faced with existential challenges and risks, the significance of knowledge creation, innovation, and systematic understanding and treatment of human competence is likely to be humanity's greatest weapon against adversity. This book was conceived to inform the decision makers and practitioners about the best practice pertinent to many disciplines and sectors. The chapters fall into three broad categories to guide the readers to gain insight from generic fundamentals to discipline-specific case studies and of the latest practice in knowledge and competence management.

Only when it would rain...would the strange words coalesce themselves in the palm of my mouth, as if bee's buzzing their honeycombs into constructions existence. Persistance in - might the words had in their crushing momentum, crashing & flash flooding behind my lips like the 1st to be witnessed cataracts within the foothills of the mountain of the moon moving their magical silt into the fallopian nile in forever's pefect perpetuousity. Words building, tumbling and racing to the cliff of the forefront of my minds edge, until...I spoke...well, not so much I, but my body's vivid vocal chords strumming these potent hymms into existence. Later I would listen, and learn to capture these foreign words which would spill from me, and, so...truthfully this is all I would ever do...borne the quick pen to capture all I could hear of words spoken by the gilders of vibration - the profound poets of whom I cannot recollect having seen nor met. And...so...I am not a poet at all, is my truest confession to you. That these contents would float upon the winds of the world from this prison cell which I now sit, into the hands of but one whom can appreciate what lies within here is my prayer...and so, if you, my friend, are now reading these words, then my prayer is answered; and thus the truth of our connection lies evident. May truth & progressions prosperity forever kiss your path. I love you. Sincerely, Sayum Simunye

The Component written by Kas Oosterhuis and has been published by CRC Press this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 2023-12-07 with Science categories.
The Component: A Personal Odyssey towards Another Normal is the Oosterhuis' personal account of four decades of architectural and societal thinking, designing, building, and theorizing. It is an orchestrated yet non-linear series of subjects all leading toward the creation of a parallel world called "Another Normal." Another Normal is as of now a hypothetical parallel world. Nomadic international citizens are the inhabitants of Another Normal. Urged by the climate crisis, the food, energy, and water nexus, and the COVID-19 pandemic, Another Normal demonstrates the inevitable data-driven techno-social architecture of the physically built environment and the metaverse. Besides robotic production on demand of almost anything – when, where, and as needed – Oosterhuis' proposes a dozen strategies that run in parallel to establish Another Normal, among others: ubiquitous basic income, global birthright to own a generous piece of land, distributed production of healthy food, clean energy, and drinking water, ownership of private data and personal avatars in the Web 3.0, autonomous electronic transportation, ubiquitous shared responsibility for clean production and waste treatment techniques, ubiquitous home delivery, working from anywhere for any period of time, and decentralized real-time peer to peer banking. The organic real and the synthetic hyper-real co-evolve naturally in Another Normal, where a mix of strong and simple legislative, planning, and design rules create complexity, diversity, fairness, and equality.

Viral written by Leonard Sweet and has been published by WaterBrook this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 2012-03-13 with Religion categories.
The gospel is nothing without relationship. And no one gets it like the Google Generation. God came to earth to invite us, personally, into a relationship. And while Christians at times downplay relationships, the social-media generation is completely sold on the idea. In Viral, Leonard Sweet says Christians need to learn about connecting with others from the experts—those who can’t seem to stop texting, IM-ing, tweeting, and updating their Facebook statuses. What would happen, he asks, if Christians devoted less attention to strategies and statistics and paid more attention to pursuing relationships? The current generation is driven by a God-given desire to know others and to be known by others. Most of them, in seeking to connect in meaningful ways, have found a place of belonging that is outside the organized church. Why not bring the two together? Those who are sold out to relationships can teach Christians how to be better friends to people who need God. At the same time, members of the social-media generation can learn how to follow their desire for belonging, straight into the arms of God. It’s time for relationship to be restored to the heart of the gospel. And when that happens, can revival be far behind? End-of-Chapter Interactives Included
