Hypothesis Driven Simulation Studies written by Fabian Lorig and has been published by Springer this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 2019-08-16 with Computers categories.

Fabian Lorig develops a procedure model for hypothesis-driven simulation studies which supports the design, conducting, and analysis of simulation experiments. It is aimed at facilitating the execution of simulation studies with regard to the replicability and reproducibility of the results. In comparison to existing models, this approach is based on a formally specified hypothesis. Each step of the simulation study can be adapted to the central hypothesis and performed in such a way that it can optimally contribute to the verification and thus to the confirmation or rejection of the hypothesis.

Discrete Event Simulation written by George S. Fishman and has been published by Springer Science & Business Media this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 2013-03-09 with Computers categories.

Discrete-event simulation consists of a collection of techniques that when applied to a discrete-event dynamical system, generates sequences called sample paths that characterize its behavior. The collection includes modelling concepts for abstracting the essential features of a system, using specially designed software for converting these relationships into computer executable code capable of generating the requisite sample-path data; outlining procedures for converting these data into estimates of systems performances; and then illustrating methods for assessing how well these estimates approximate true, but unknown system behavior. This book is intended for upper level undergraduate and graduate students in operations research and management science, mathematics, industrial engineering, computer science, and business and features extensive exercises throughout. This concept of modelling complex sytems allows a relatively low-cost way of gathering information for decision-making. Principally offered are four problems for student exercises; each is progressively brought forward through the modelling, programming, and analysis chapters, providing continuity to the learning process.

Building Software For Simulation written by James J. Nutaro and has been published by John Wiley & Sons this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 2011-03-23 with Computers categories.

Building Software for Simulation A unique guide to the design and implementation of simulation software This book offers a concise introduction to the art of building simulation software, collecting the most important concepts and algorithms in one place. Written for both individuals new to the field of modeling and simulation as well as experienced practitioners, this guide explains the design and implementation of simulation software used in the engineering of large systems while presenting the relevant mathematical elements, concept discussions, and code development. The book approaches the topic from the perspective of Zeigler’s theory of modeling and simulation, introducing the theory’s fundamental concepts and showing how to apply them to engineering problems. Readers will learn five necessary skills for building simulations of complicated systems: Working with fundamental abstractions for simulating dynamic systems Developing basic simulation algorithms for continuous and discrete event models Combining continuous and discrete event simulations into a coherent whole Applying strategies for testing a simulation Understanding the theoretical foundations of the modeling constructs and simulation algorithms The central chapters of the book introduce, explain, and demonstrate the elements of the theory that are most important for building simulation tools. They are bracketed by applications to robotics, control and communications, and electric power systems; these comprehensive examples clearly illustrate how the concepts and algorithms are put to use. Readers will explore the design of object-oriented simulation programs, simulation using multi-core processors, and the integration of simulators into larger software systems. The focus on software makes this book particularly useful for computer science and computer engineering courses in simulation that focus on building simulators. It is indispensable reading for undergraduate and graduate students studying modeling and simulation, as well as for practicing scientists and engineers involved in the development of simulation tools.

Operations Research Models And Methods written by Paul A. Jensen and has been published by John Wiley & Sons this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 2002-10-08 with Technology & Engineering categories.

In a rapidly developing field like Operations Research, its easy to get overwhelmed by the variety of topics and analytic techniques. Paul Jensen and Jonathan Bard help you master the expensive field by focusing on the fundamental models and methodologies underlying the practice of Operations Research. Bridging the gap between theory and practice, the author presents the quantitative tools and models most important to understanding modern operations research. You'll come to appreciate the power of OR techniques in solving real-world problems and applications in your own field. You'll learn how to translate complex situations into mathematical models, solve models and turn models into solutions. This text is designed to bridge the gap between theory and practice by presenting the quantitative tools and models most suited for modern operations research. The principal goal is to give analysts, engineers, and decision makers a larger appreciation of their roles by defining a common terminology and by explaining the interfaces between the underlying methodologies. Features Divides each subject into methods and models, giving you greater flexibility in how you approach the material. Concise and focused presentation highlights central ideas. Many examples throughout the text will help you better understand mathematical material.
