The Design And Implementation Of Concurrent Small Talk written by Yokote Yasuhiko and has been published by World Scientific this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 1990-06-27 with Computers categories.

This book focuses on object-oriented concurrent computing, which can be considered a model of concurrent programming, and proposes a new programming language, ConcurrentSmalltalk, which is based on object-oriented concurrent computing. The book also shows the efficiency of object-oriented concurrent computing through the design, implementation, and evaluation of ConcurrentSmalltalk. ConcurrentSmalltalk is designed to be upwardly compatible with Smalltalk-80. In the book, the ConcurrentSmalltalk object model is first proposed. Next, issues which arise from maintaining compatibility with Smalltalk-80 are discussed. Finally, the ConcurrentSmalltalk virtual machine which executes the ConcurrentSmalltalk programs is proposed.

Object Oriented Programming With Smalltalk written by Harald Wertz and has been published by Elsevier this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 2015-11-26 with Computers categories.

Object oriented programming is a way of thinking about problems. Smalltalk is one of the purest incarnations of an object-oriented programming language. Using a pedagogical approach, this book covers all aspects of object oriented programming: first through the study of various preexisting Smalltalk classes, their implementation and use; then through a detailed description of an implementation of an interactive Lindenmayer system and through implementation of a series of calculators. The author addresses such subjects as graphics programming, dependency mechanisms and hierarchical specialization. This book fills the gap for an in-depth self-study reference, permitting the reader to master all aspects of object-oriented programming through a large set of exercises with highly detailed resources. Downloadable software content for practice applications Covers all aspects of Smalltalk: theconcepts of primitive objects, classes and instances, static and dynamic inheritance and methods, as well as graphical programming, the dependency mechanisms and the handling of exceptions Features in-depth studies of two programming projects and annotated solutions to all exercies and appendices

Object-orientation and the need for multi-paradigmatic systems constitute a challenge for researchers, practitioners and instructors. Presentations at the OCG/NJSZT joint conference in Klagenfurt, Austria, in September 1992 addressed these issues. The proceedings comprise such topics as: project management, artificial intelligence - modelling aspects, artificial intelligence - tool building aspects, language features, object-orientied software development, the challenge of coping with complexity, methodology, and experience, software engineering education, science policy, etc.

Ecoop 87 European Conference On Object Oriented Programming written by Jean Bezivin and has been published by Springer this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 2007-03-06 with Computers categories.

In October 1983 an informal meeting was organized in Le Cap d'Agde with the help of the BIGRE bulletin. Sixty people turned out to hear more than ten presentations on object-oriented programming. More important was their unanimous demand for other, more structured encounters. So, about one year later, the Object group was created by AFCET. A second workshop was organized in Brest, and again one year later in Paris, each time showing increased attendance and interest. The success of these meetings and the fact that similar activities were taking place in other European countries, especially Great Britain and Germany, led to the idea of an annual European Conference, providing a forum for theorists and practitioners interested in the object-oriented programming paradigm. It is impossible to acknowledge here all the people and organizations that welcomed with great enthusiasm the birth of the ECOOP conference and contributed to its organization. More than a hundred submissions were received and the program committee had the unpleasant task of turning down many valuable contributions. We hope, however, that the selection of papers for ECOOP'87 emphasizes the fundamental issues and problems of object-oriented programming and will point toward interesting future research directions.

This volume presents carefully refereed versions of the best papers presented at the Workshop on Models and Languages for Coordination of Parallelism and Distribution, held during ECOOP '94 in Bologna, Italy in July 1994. Recently a new class of models and languages for distributed and parallel programming has evolved; all these models share a few basic concepts: simple features for data description and a small number of mechanisms for coordinating the work of agents in a distributed setting. This volume demonstrates that integrating such features with those known from concurrent object-oriented programming is very promising with regard to language support for distribution and software composition.
