The concept of smart healthcare is considerably optimistic thanks to the applications of artificial intelligence as well as augmented and virtual reality (AR/VR) which work in tandem to enhance better results and better delivery of care. The algorithm developed with the help of modern technology is aimed at analyzing and interpreting a significant volume of clinical healthcare data with the aim of enhancing diagnosis and practices. Additionally, 3-dimesional (3D) bioprinting is revolutionizing healthcare by fabricating biological tissues and organs for clinical regenerative medicine and surgical advances. Thus, personalized medicine can go a step further with providing clinical treatments that have specific doses and drugs combinations of the patients in need. Smart Healthcare, Clinical Diagnostics, and Bioprinting Solutions for Modern Medicine explores the revolution that smart healthcare is having on the improvement of management of hospitals through increased operational efficiency, adequate conformation of resources, and smooth patient flows. It advances processes that are utilized in clinical diagnosis with the aid of predictive modelling with best practices. Covering topics such as disease prediction, remote healthcare monitoring, and intelligent healthcare supply chains, this book is an excellent resource for policymakers, clinicians, information technologists, data scientists, biomedical engineers, professionals, researchers, scholars, academicians, and more.

The Smartphone Paradox is a critical examination of our everyday mobile technologies and the effects that they have on our thoughts and behaviors. Alan J. Reid presents a comprehensive view of smartphones: the research behind the uses and gratifications of smartphones, the obstacles they present, the opportunities they afford, and how everyone can achieve a healthy, technological balance. It includes interviews with smartphone users from a variety of backgrounds, and translates scholarly research into a conversational tone, making it easy to understand a synthesis of key findings and conclusions from a heavily-researched domain. All in all, through the lens of smartphone dependency, the book makes the argument for digital mindfulness in a device age that threatens our privacy, sociability, attention, and cognitive abilities.

Interactions Between Emotions And Social Context Basic Clinical And Non Human Evidence written by Maria Ruz and has been published by Frontiers E-books this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 2014-07-17 with Interpersonal relations categories.

The emotions that we feel and also those that we perceive in others are crucial to the social functioning of both humans and non-human animals. Although the role of context has been extensively studied in basic sensory processing, its relevance for social cognition and emotional processing is little understood. In recent years, several lines of research at the behavioral and neural levels have highlighted the bidirectional interactions that take place between emotions and social context. Experienced emotions, even when incidental, bias decision-making. Remarkably, even basic emotions can be strongly influenced by situational contexts. In addition, both humans and non-human animals can use emotional expressions strategically as a means of influencing and managing the behavioral response of others in relation to specific environmental situations. Moreover, social emotions (e.g., engaged in moral judgment, empathic concern and social norms) seem to be context-dependent, which also questions a purely abstract account of emotion understanding and expression, as well as other social cognition domains. The present Research Topic of Frontiers in Human Neuroscience highlights the need for a situated approach to emotion and social cognition. We presented theoretical and empirical work at the behavioral and neural levels that contribute to our understanding of emotion within a highly contextualized social realm, and vice-versa. Relevant contributions are presented from diverse fields, including ethology, neurology, biology, cognitive and social neuroscience, and as well as psychology and neuropsychiatry. This integrated approach that entails the interaction between emotion and social context provide important new insights into the growing field of social neuroscience.

Gathering the Proceedings of the 2018 Intelligent Systems Conference (IntelliSys 2018), this book offers a remarkable collection of chapters covering a wide range of topics in intelligent systems and computing, and their real-world applications. The Conference attracted a total of 568 submissions from pioneering researchers, scientists, industrial engineers, and students from all around the world. These submissions underwent a double-blind peer review process, after which 194 (including 13 poster papers) were selected to be included in these proceedings. As intelligent systems continue to replace and sometimes outperform human intelligence in decision-making processes, they have made it possible to tackle many problems more effectively. This branching out of computational intelligence in several directions, and the use of intelligent systems in everyday applications, have created the need for such an international conference, which serves as a venue for reporting on cutting-edge innovations and developments. This book collects both theory and application-based chapters on all aspects of artificial intelligence, from classical to intelligent scope. Readers are sure to find the book both interesting and valuable, as it presents state-of-the-art intelligent methods and techniques for solving real-world problems, along with a vision of future research directions.
