Clairvoyance and other paranormal phenomena have polarised opinion since the birth of civilisation. They have been reported in the Bible, yoga sutras and other ancient texts. David Akerman has worked as a clairvoyant and joined the Society for Psychical Research (SPR) in 2020. He states that he never considered himself religious, but he has been forced to admit that several phenomena that he considered to be impossible, have been proven by rigorous scientific experiments carried out by leading scientists, with staggering odds-against-chance, sometimes of over a billion-to-one. These phenomena include clairvoyance, telepathy, precognition, prayer and distant healing which have historically been practised by the majority of mainstream religions and spiritual organisations. In this Akerman's first book, he shares with the reader his attempt to find scientific and rational explanations for 12 cases of paranormal activity experienced by friends, acquaintances and family; these include apparitions, levitation, after-death communication, distant healing, out-of-body and near-death-experiences, poltergeist activity and time warps. He then goes on to share his experiences of working as a clairvoyant where, to his amazement, during readings, information about a person's past, present and future appears to be accessible. These results led him to ask the question: What is the relationship between this phenomenon and the past, present and future all existing simultaneously? This concept is known as the 'block universe', was hypothesised by Albert Einstein in his theory of relativity.
