In part 2 of this series, Wayne Harrison's 122 page book continues to explore the use of rondos in youth soccer. Rondos are a great way to prepare players for the game situations and especially the fast decision making needed within the game. I have included as a way to work into these game situations many Rondo ideas that I feel are great foundation builders for players learning to combine and play together. I have stayed with simplistic ideas that all levels of players can try and be successful at. It is up to each coach to work out how to make it work for their players. Though the foundation of the basic rondo stays the same; we explore different ways to present it. It can be made easier or more difficult based on the number of touches players are allowed, for example, so it benefits ALL players who practice with them; also the size of area they play within can be manipulated to change the challenge. Contents: 1) Introduction to Playing 4 v 4 using rondos 2) Quick transition 2 v 2 Rondos with Players staying in their own zones: An Introduction to 4 v 4 Rondos 3) Quick transition 2 v 2 Rondos 4) Quick transition 2 v 2 Rondos: An Introduction to 4 v 4 Rondos now transitioning between zones 5) Quick transition 4 v 4 Rondos (Defending) 6) Quick transition 4 v 4 Rondos (Attacking) 7) Quick transition 6 v 6 Rondos (Attacking) 8) Quick transition 6 v 6 Rondos (Defending) 9) Quick transition 3 v 3 Rondos with Players staying in their own zones. This 103 page eBook explores one touch training and movement off the ball and includes 90 pages of drills that you can do with your team. Table of contents is below. One Touch Training: Teaches the player WHEN to play one touch; and when NOT to play one touch. We are teaching players to have a ONE TOUCH MENTALITY. A One touch mentality teaches players to recognize the best options; and therefore make the best DECISIONS; BEFORE and in ADVANCE of receiving the ball. Movement OFF the ball: This mentality conditions the mind of players OFF the ball to position and move to help the player who is receiving the ball. This means we want players to always; at every moment; THINK: "I only have One touch"; therefore this will force players to always do what I call the "LOOK and THINK" before they receive the ball to see several options and pick out their best option, which may actually be to DRIBBLE!!When you use these training sessions consistently you will see the development of that relationship between having a ONE TOUCH mentality and Movement OFF the ball.So in a nutshell:LOOK (before receiving the ball);MOVE (find space off the ball based on positioning of teammates and opponents):THINK (what is my best option?):EXECUTE (the Decision; or the SKILL Factor).

Are you ready to take your soccer game to the next level? Or just looking for ways to improve your understanding of the game? Read below. Consider the greatest players the beautiful game has ever seen. Pele and Puskas, Maradona - from the present time, Messi and Ronaldo. The likes of Zinedine Zidane, Thierry Henry and Dennis Bergkamp, the great readers of the game such as Beckebauer and Bobby Moore and that devastating finisher, Gerd Muller. When we try to analyze what it is that made these players so successful and held in such regard, a number of similarities come to mind. They are, of course, mostly strikers, Beckenbauer and Moore apart. They played in the busiest, most challenging area of the pitch and in a position that could, and frequently did, change games. That is certainly true of the attacking players, but also applies to those with more defensive duties. Interestingly, though, the two defenders listed were known for their ball playing skills as much as their defensive ones. Each possessed pace, physical strength, fast feet. Each could control a ball in an instant, were balanced in their running and hard in their shooting. But there is something more that turns the merely very good into the exceptional, at whatever level they choose to play. And that is that indefinable quality we call soccer intelligence. Intelligent people in whatever field they work know that simple works best. Soccer is, at its heart, a simple game. Pass the ball, move into space (where it is easier to control a pass and to deliver a return), move the ball on. When the chance arises, attempt to score a goal. If you are a defender, try to deny the other side space. A simple pass is easier to complete than a complex one. Intercepting the ball is easier than winning it through a tackle. Moving into space, finding a good angle and communicating well makes a pass easier to deliver for a team mate. Intelligence and simplicity might sound as though they should be opposites, but in fact they are close bed fellows. The purpose of this book is to define soccer intelligence, to break it down into its constituent parts and, importantly, present drills the good coach can use with his or her team to develop that intelligence to its greatest potential. Because it is a fact that those with innate ability to read the game, anticipate passes (from both teams), to find space and utilize it contrive to make that ability of theirs better, more finely honed, even more effective than it might otherwise be. Here Is A Preview Of What You'll Learn from in This Book: Introduction First Touch Into Space Drills To Develop A Good First Touch Into Space Movement Without The Ball Drills To Improve Movement Without The Ball Choosing Between Passes Drills To Improve Intelligent Passing Predicting Opponent's Passing Drills To Improve Passing Interception Scroll up and download now.

This 60 page eBook teaches rotational combination movements to teach in 11 v 11. Positioning and rotations correctly "off the ball" is vital for team success. We begin with a description of the roles of each player and how and where they can move to compliment each other. After establishing the roles and responsibilities of each player, we look at how small movements off the ball can open up spaces for players and create passing lanes. This book builds into the development of rotational movement within the team framework. Then forward movements and rotations to create options for the player on the ball. When the ball needs to be played in behind a defense holding a high line and now players learning forward movement and the timing and angle of runs and creating several options for the passer. Finally, we go over Switching the Point of Attack. Here we show how to overload one side of the field to leave the other side open to catch opponents with a very fast switch of play. Rather than player rotation this is "BALL" rotation and retention.
