Woordenboek van het standaard Soendaas, zoals het wordt gesproken in en om Bandung, en zoals deze in geschreven vorm wordt aangetroffen in Volkslectuur-uitgaven en in de diverse media. De oorsprong van deze publicatie ligt in the woordenboek samengesteld door R.A. Kern, die zijn materiaal putte uit de Soendase uitgaven van Bale Pustaka en uit het woordenboek van Satjadibrata (1948). Na het overlijden van Kern in 1958 werd het manuscript aangevuld en bewerkt door F.S. Eringa, die zijn eigen gegevens in het woordenboek incorporeerde. Deze publicatie is de opvolger van het Soendaneesch-Hollandsch woordenboek van S. Coolsma (1913). De samensteller heeft woorden opgenomen die tot Soendase dialecten behoren (aangeduid met dial) en woorden die tot het literaire taalgebruik behoren (lit).

In het Indisch Lexicon zijn bijna 19.000 Indische woorden en begrippen, zoals ze in de Nederlandse taal vanaf ongeveer 1600 gebruikt zijn, vastgelegd, omschreven en in hun context geplaatst. Van ieder woord is de betekenis gegeven op basis van reeds bestaande Indonesische, Maleise, Javaanse, Soendanese en Nederlandse woordenboeken. Niet alleen enkelvoudige woorden maar ook samenstellingen en spellingsvarianten zijn opgenomen, met citaten uit de bron waarin het betreffende woord voorkomt. Dit lexicon is een belangrijk naslagwerk om de Indische woorden en uitdrukkingen die langzaam uit ons collectieve geheugen verdwijnen, vast te houden, weer tot leven te wekken en te verklaren binnen hun semantische en culturele context. The Arjunawiwāha is one of the best known of the Old Javanese classics. This volume presents a new text, based on Balinese manuscripts, with a complete translation, building on the work done by earlier writers. An introduction provides ample background information, as well as an original interpretation of the significance of the text, within its historical and cultural setting. This poem was written by Mpu Kanwa in around A.D. 1030 under King Airlangga, who ruled in East Java. It is Mpu Kanwa’s only known work, and is the second oldest example in the genre of kakawin. The poem is a narrative, but also contains passages of description, philosophical or religious teaching of great interest, as well as remarkable erotic scenes. Parts of the tale have been depicted on early temple reliefs and in paintings, and the text is still recited in Bali by literary clubs and in temple ceremonies.

English: Over the course of 20 years, what started out as a Surinamese language project in Paramaribo in 1977, and which was later continued in the Netherlands, with the support of the foundation Scientific Research of the Tropics (WOTRO), resulted in this dictionary of Surinamese Javanese. It records, for the first time, the language of the speakers of this variant of Javanese, a language with its own unique development. The dictionary is an indispensable tool for anyone coming into contact with Surinamese Javanese, either in Suriname or in the Netherlands. The basis for this dictionary is formed by mainly oral and few written sources, complemented by relevance added through the use of informants. It is just over a century since the first manuscript of Désawarnana (also known as the Nagarakrtagama) was rescued from the sack of the palace at Cakranagara in Lombok. Once its importance for Javanese history was recognized, its place was assured: our picture of the greatness of the Javanese kingdom of Majapahit in the second half of the 14th century is based largely on the evidence of this one text, and it is true to say that this picture has formed an inspiration for modern Indonesians as well. The text is not a literary masterpiece, and it is not typical of its genre; in fact it is unique. One of the reasons for this is the fact that here and there its author, Mpu Prapanca, tells us something about himself, in particular when he accompanies his king as Superintendent of Buddhist Affairs on a long journey through the countryside of East Java in 1359.

Sundanese books have been printed since 1850 up to the present. This article tries to draw a configuration of printing books in Sundanese for about 100 years in the Dutch colonial and Japanese occupation period. Printing and publishing books in Sundanese was initiated by the Dutch colonial government for the sake of management of their colony. This article discuss three aspects in print culture in Sundanese: (1) the role of government printing house and private publishers; (2) the cultural relationship between manuscript and printed books, and; (3) the changes after the emergence of printed books. Print culture in the Sundanese-speaking community was born and has developed. Its facets have changed from time to time. We notice more than 2200 Sundanese books were published up to the second decade of the 21st century when the technological innovation has proceeded in an enormous pace. However, the importance of Sundanese publication has not diminished in terms of nurturing educated citizens in this digital-oriented society and supporting cultural identity.
