Software evolution is a time-consuming and costly process due to its complex architecture. Software designers need to produce software that is effective as well as durable. Durability and effectiveness of software are the foremost priorities and challenges for developers. This book comprises real-life case studies of durability issues and their solutions that bring to light loopholes and show how to fix them, to enhance durability. Existing literature on software durability tells us that the first step is to recognise the problem. It gives information about durability, risk, estimation, knowledge, and governance based on five main characteristics: dependability, trustworthiness, usability, security, and human trust. The book serves as a complete package to get acquainted with assurance and risk management from a software durability perspective. It enhances our understanding of the concept of durability, its multi-dimensional approach, threats and their types, risk, mitigation techniques, and suggestive measures. The book reviews the emerging trends in the software development process in the context of durability concepts such as automated code reviews, coding standards, and software durability standards and their testing, cost management solutions, low-code or no-code solutions, and durability assurance.

Durability Analysis Of Structural Composite Systems written by Albert H. Cardon and has been published by CRC Press this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 1996-01-01 with Technology & Engineering categories.
Durability analysis can be defined as the prediction methodology of safe residual behaviour after a given life time under a complex mechanical loading history in combination with a program of environmental variations. This was, and is a central problem for the reliability of structural components whatever are the basic material systems. With composite systems, combination of different materials in interaction, an integrated material structure design becomes possible. If one of the phases is a polymer, the composite system has time dependent properties and as consequence durability analysis has to be performed taking into account the internal time factor in combination with strong influences from temperature changes and moisture diffusion. Insurance companies need information on durability and reliability in order to cover the risks, and in the event of failure lawyers have to arrive at an agreement om the responsibilites of the different actors involved in the constructiion. This book is an overview of the state of the different aspects of safe structural integrity for a given lifetime of composite structures, with special emphasis on polymer matrix composites. It is of interest for scientists and engineers involved in composites and for designers of composite structural components.

Managing Software Quality written by Richard E. Nance and has been published by Springer Science & Business Media this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 2012-12-06 with Computers categories.
This is one of the shorter books in the 21 volume Practitioner Book Series, but this is entirely appropriate for a text on the ubiquitous topic of Quality. The book is written in a concise, precise no-nonsense style by two interna tional authors. They are supported in their approach by relevant personal practical experience and by peer-review of other researchers obtained whilst disseminating their research in the academic literature. The authors base their book around their Objective/Principles/ Attributes (OPA) Framework, developed in the first place for assessment and prediction of software quality. After OPA was developed as a procedure for evaluating software development methodologies, it was expanded to include software quality measurement with the inclusion of statistical indicators and a systematic basis for deriving them. The OPA is an holistic approach to soft ware quality and prediction. The approach has been validated through experience gained on a 4-year on-site project, which has also led to improve ments to the framework.

Software Quality Assurance in Large Scale and Complex Software-intensive Systems presents novel and high-quality research related approaches that relate the quality of software architecture to system requirements, system architecture and enterprise-architecture, or software testing. Modern software has become complex and adaptable due to the emergence of globalization and new software technologies, devices and networks. These changes challenge both traditional software quality assurance techniques and software engineers to ensure software quality when building today (and tomorrow's) adaptive, context-sensitive, and highly diverse applications. This edited volume presents state of the art techniques, methodologies, tools, best practices and guidelines for software quality assurance and offers guidance for future software engineering research and practice. Each contributed chapter considers the practical application of the topic through case studies, experiments, empirical validation, or systematic comparisons with other approaches already in practice. Topics of interest include, but are not limited, to: quality attributes of system/software architectures; aligning enterprise, system, and software architecture from the point of view of total quality; design decisions and their influence on the quality of system/software architecture; methods and processes for evaluating architecture quality; quality assessment of legacy systems and third party applications; lessons learned and empirical validation of theories and frameworks on architectural quality; empirical validation and testing for assessing architecture quality. - Focused on quality assurance at all levels of software design and development - Covers domain-specific software quality assurance issues e.g. for cloud, mobile, security, context-sensitive, mash-up and autonomic systems - Explains likely trade-offs from design decisions in the context of complex software system engineering and quality assurance - Includes practical case studies of software quality assurance for complex, adaptive and context-critical systems
