Pionieristico e sperimentale per passione, il “CdR” si guadagnerà sul campo il soprannome di “settimanale irripetibile”, per la scelta di pubblicare i fumetti di alcuni tra i più grandi disegnatori italiani e stranieri, e l’alta qualità del taglio giornalistico di rubriche e reportage, polarizzati sull’attualità politica e sociale. È la prima volta che una rivista per ragazzi si occupa con competenza e professionalità di argomenti “seri” (che non vuol dire per forza “pesanti”). Le stesse storie a fumetti non sono mai infantili, ma contengono spesso un doppio livello di lettura. Un esempio su tutti: Hugo Pratt e il suo Corto Maltese. E l’elenco è lunghissimo: sarebbe difficile citare tutti gli autori che sfilano sul “CdR” e in alcuni casi vi debuttano, come Silver, Micheluzzi, Alessandrini, Carnevali, Sclavi...
