Three Space Problems In Banach Space Theory written by Jesus M.F. Castillo and has been published by Springer this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 2007-12-03 with Mathematics categories.

This book on Banach space theory focuses on what have been called three-space problems. It contains a fairly complete description of ideas, methods, results and counterexamples. It can be considered self-contained, beyond a course in functional analysis and some familiarity with modern Banach space methods. It will be of interest to researchers for its methods and open problems, and to students for the exposition of techniques and examples.

History Of Banach Spaces And Linear Operators written by Albrecht Pietsch and has been published by Springer Science & Business Media this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 2007-12-31 with Mathematics categories.

Written by a distinguished specialist in functional analysis, this book presents a comprehensive treatment of the history of Banach spaces and (abstract bounded) linear operators. Banach space theory is presented as a part of a broad mathematics context, using tools from such areas as set theory, topology, algebra, combinatorics, probability theory, logic, etc. Equal emphasis is given to both spaces and operators. The book may serve as a reference for researchers and as an introduction for graduate students who want to learn Banach space theory with some historical flavor.

Saks Spaces And Applications To Functional Analysis written by J.B. Cooper and has been published by Elsevier this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 2011-08-18 with Mathematics categories.

The first edition of this monograph appeared in 1978. In view of the progress made in the intervening years, the original text has been revised, several new sections have been added and the list of references has been updated. The book presents a systematic treatment of the theory of Saks Spaces, i.e. vector space with a norm and related, subsidiary locally convex topology. Applications are given to space of bounded, continuous functions, to measure theory, vector measures, spaces of bounded measurable functions, spaces of bounded analytic functions, and to W*-algebras.

In this survey the authors endeavor to give a comprehensive examination of the theory of measures having values in Banach spaces. The interplay between topological and geometric properties of Banach spaces and the properties of measures having values in Banach spaces is the unifying theme. The first chapter deals with countably additive vector measures finitely additive vector measures, the Orlicz-Pettis theorem and its relatives. Chapter II concentrates on measurable vector valued functions and the Bochner integral. Chapter III begins the study of the interplay among the Radon-Nikodym theorem for vector measures, operators on $L_1$ and topological properties of Banach spaces. A variety of applications is given in the next chapter. Chapter V deals with martingales of Bochner integrable functions and their relation to dentable subsets of Banach spaces. Chapter VI is devoted to a measure-theoretic study of weakly compact absolutely summing and nuclear operators on spaces of continuous functions. In Chapter VII a detailed study of the geometry of Banach spaces with the Radon-Nikodym property is given. The next chapter deals with the use of Radon-Nikodym theorems in the study of tensor products of Banach spaces. The last chapter concludes the survey with a discussion of the Liapounoff convexity theorem and other geometric properties of the range of a vector measure. Accompanying each chapter is an extensive survey of the literature and open problems.

A large mathematical community throughout the world actively works in functional analysis and uses profound techniques from topology. Written by experts in the field, this book is a treasure trove for researchers and graduate students studying the interplay among the areas of point-set and descriptive topology, modern analysis, set theory, topological vector spaces, including Banach spaces, and continuous function spaces. This second edition continues in the same spirit of the acclaimed first edition, providing new insights into the connections between the topological properties of linear function spaces and their applications in functional analysis. It has been expanded by adding completely new Chapters 17–21, presenting results concerning, but not limited to, topological spaces and groups with G-bases, various concepts related to networks and their applications in topology and functional analysis, and those that develop topological and analytic methods related to Grothendieck Banach spaces and Boolean algebras with the Nikodym property. The book will continue to serve as a reference for present and future work done in this area and could serve as a valuable supplement to advanced graduate courses in functional analysis, set-theoretic topology, or the theory of function spaces.

This book is based on lectures given at "Mekhmat", the Department of Mechanics and Mathematics at Moscow State University, one of the top mathematical departments worldwide, with a rich tradition of teaching functional analysis. Featuring an advanced course on real and functional analysis, the book presents not only core material traditionally included in university courses of different levels, but also a survey of the most important results of a more subtle nature, which cannot be considered basic but which are useful for applications. Further, it includes several hundred exercises of varying difficulty with tips and references. The book is intended for graduate and PhD students studying real and functional analysis as well as mathematicians and physicists whose research is related to functional analysis.

This volume contains research articles based on lectures given at the Seventh International Conference on $p$-adic Functional Analysis. The articles, written by leading international experts, provide a complete overview of the latest contributions in basic functional analysis (Hilbert and Banach spaces, locally convex spaces, orthogonality, inductive limits, spaces of continuous functions, strict topologies, operator theory, automatic continuity, measure and integrations, Banach and topological algebras, summability methods, and ultrametric spaces), analytic functions (meromorphic functions, roots of rational functions, characterization of injective holomorphic functions, and Gelfand transforms in algebras of analytic functions), differential equations, Banach-Hopf algebras, Cauchy theory of Levi-Civita fields, finite differences, weighted means, $p$-adic dynamical systems, and non-Archimedean probability theory and stochastic processes. The book is written for graduate students and research mathematicians. It also would make a good reference source for those in related areas, such as classical functional analysis, complex analytic functions, probability theory, dynamical systems, orthomodular spaces, number theory, and representations of $p$-adic groups.

Integration theory deals with extended real-valued, vector-valued, or operator-valued measures and functions, but different approaches are used for each case. This book develops a general theory of integration that simultaneously deals with all three cases.
