Der Tourismus ist einer der wichtigsten Wirtschaftszweige Südtirols und wird nach wie vor von Familienbetrieben geprägt. Die Familienmitglieder der gemeinsam geführten Tourismusbetriebe in Südtirol stehen als Akteure und Akteurinnen mit ihren persönlichen Erinnerungen, Erfahrungen, Wünschen und Hoffnungen im Zentrum dieser Studie. Das Augenmerk liegt auf zwei familialen Generationen: zum einen auf jener, die den Betrieb aufgebaut hat und zum anderen auf jener, die im Betrieb aufgewachsen ist und sich vor dem Hintergrund der sich durch die Tourismusentwicklung stark verändernden Rahmenbedingungen gegenwärtig für oder gegen eine Nachfolge entscheiden muss bzw. entschieden hat. Anhand einer qualitativen Herangehensweise werden einzelne Aspekte von Intergenerationalität in den familiengeführten Tourismusbetrieben und deren biografische Relevanz für die betroffenen Individuen herausgearbeitet. Dabei geht es vordergründig um die Frage, wie verschiedene Generationen mit dem Zusammenleben und -arbeiten im eignen Betrieb umgehen, wie also Intergenerationalität von den Akteuren und Akteurinnen erfahren wird und welche Bedeutung sie etwa in Bezug auf die individuelle Identitäts- und Sinnkonstruktion der Beteiligten einnimmt. Evelyn Reso Ph.D. hat an der Universität Innsbruck Europäische Ethnologie studiert. Seit 2007 ist sie wissenschaftliche Mitarbeiterin im Touriseum, dem Südtiroler Landesmuseum für Tourismus in Meran, für das sie im Bereich Tourismusforschung mehrere Ausstellungen kuratiert sowie Artikel und Aufsätze publiziert hat.
