Spectral Hp Element Methods For Computational Fluid Dynamics written by George Karniadakis and has been published by OUP Oxford this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 2005-06-02 with Mathematics categories.

Spectral methods have long been popular in direct and large eddy simulation of turbulent flows, but their use in areas with complex-geometry computational domains has historically been much more limited. More recently the need to find accurate solutions to the viscous flow equations around complex configurations has led to the development of high-order discretisation procedures on unstructured meshes, which are also recognised as more efficient for solution of time-dependent oscillatory solutions over long time periods. Here Karniadakis and Sherwin present a much-updated and expanded version of their successful first edition covering the recent and significant progress in multi-domain spectral methods at both the fundamental and application level. Containing over 50% new material, including discontinuous Galerkin methods, non-tensorial nodal spectral element methods in simplex domains, and stabilisation and filtering techniques, this text aims to introduce a wider audience to the use of spectral/hp element methods with particular emphasis on their application to unstructured meshes. It provides a detailed explanation of the key concepts underlying the methods along with practical examples of their derivation and application, and is aimed at students, academics and practitioners in computational fluid mechanics, applied and numerical mathematics, computational mechanics, aerospace and mechanical engineering and climate/ocean modelling.

Isogeometric Analysis And Applications 2018 written by Harald van Brummelen and has been published by Springer Nature this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 2021-01-13 with Mathematics categories.

This proceedings volume gathers a selection of outstanding research papers presented at the third Conference on Isogeometric Analysis and Applications, held in Delft, The Netherlands, in April 2018. This conference series, previously held in Linz, Austria, in 2012 and Annweiler am Trifels, Germany, in 2014, has created an international forum for interaction between scientists and practitioners working in this rapidly developing field. Isogeometric analysis is a groundbreaking computational approach that aims to bridge the gap between numerical analysis and computational geometry modeling by integrating the finite element method and related numerical simulation techniques into the computer-aided design workflow, and vice versa. The methodology has matured over the last decade both in terms of our theoretical understanding, its mathematical foundation and the robustness and efficiency of its practical implementations. This development has enabled scientists and practitioners to tackle challenging new applications at the frontiers of research in science and engineering and attracted early adopters for this his novel computer-aided design and engineering technology in industry. The IGAA 2018 conference brought together experts on isogeometric analysis theory and application, share their insights into challenging industrial applications and to discuss the latest developments as well as the directions of future research and development that are required to make isogeometric analysis an established mainstream technology.

Finite Difference Methods For Compressible Two Fluid Dynamics written by Khosro Shahbazi and has been published by Springer Nature this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 2025-07-04 with Mathematics categories.

Finite Difference Methods for Compressible Two-Fluid Dynamics provides the essentials of high-order numerical methods for compressible single-fluid and two-fluid transport phenomena. This book can serve as a first course on the numerical methods for transport phenomena or fluid dynamics for students in mechanical, aerospace, and chemical engineering, applied mathematics, and physics at the senior level of an undergraduate or graduate degree. It also provides foundations and algorithmic details for implementing the most recent numerical schemes for compressible flows and extending them to include other physics, such as elasticity, reaction, and magnetohydrodynamics. The book's presented schemes enable computations for broad applications, including shock-induced interfacial instability and turbulence, shock-bubble interactions, and detonation, to name a few. For a broad reach and impact, the numerical schemes satisfy the simultaneous requirements of simplicity, extendibility, and efficiency on serial and parallel computers. The physics of the compressible single- and two-fluid system also guide the design and analysis of the numerical methods. The enabled direct numerical simulations also help obtain accurate data for tuning the emerging physics-based neuromorphic algorithms.

Approximation And Stability Properties Of Numerical Methods For Hyperbolic Conservation Laws written by Philipp Öffner and has been published by Springer Nature this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 2023-09-17 with Mathematics categories.

The book focuses on stability and approximation results concerning recent numerical methods for the numerical solution of hyperbolic conservation laws. The work begins with a detailed and thorough introduction of hyperbolic conservation/balance laws and their numerical treatment. In the main part, recent results in such context are presented focusing on the investigation of approximation properties of discontinuous Galerkin and flux reconstruction methods, the construction of (entropy) stable numerical methods and the extension of existing (entropy) stability results for both semidiscrete and fully discrete schemes, and development of new high-order methods.
