Ein (IT-)Projekt führen bedeutet, (zweckrational) zu planen und zu steuern und gleichzeitig das Unvorhergesehene zu meistern ohne das Menschliche (Emotionale) aus den Augen zu verlieren. (IT-)Projekte bewirken nämlich nicht nur Veränderungen, sie verlaufen auch selten nach Plan – trotz richtig angewandter Methoden. In diesem Buch geht es um diesen Spagat. Die Autoren bieten dazu innovative und gleichzeitig praxisorientierte Anregungen an, die sie im Format eines Projektspiels aufbereitet haben. Spiel und spielend steht dabei nicht für einfach. Vielmehr geht es in Spielen wie in Projekten um Rationales und um Emotionales, es geht darum Neues zu erkunden, es geht um Lernen und darum das Gelernte umzusetzen. Entsprechend leiten die Autoren entlang der Spielzüge durch die Projektphasen. Sie zeigen zum einen auf, wie man ein Projekt von Anfang bis Ende unter Einsatz verschiedener – und gleichzeitig unabhängig von – Methoden erfolgreich führen kann ohne den roten Faden zu verlieren. Zum anderen befassen sie sich damit wie Menschliches und Emotionales und zweckrationale Ergebnisorientierung in Projekten zusammenwirken können. Das Projektspiel befasst sich mit Methoden und enthält viele Praxistipps. Es ist aber weder ein (neues) Methodenbuch noch ein klassischer Ratgeber. Das Projektspiel beinhaltet vielmehr Lösungsansätze und Reflexionselemente zum Weiterentwickeln für den Projektalltag von (erfahrenen) Projektverantwortlichen.

Digital gaming is today a significant economic phenomenon as well as being an intrinsic part of a convergent media culture in postmodern societies. Its ubiquity, as well as the sheer volume of hours young people spend gaming, should make it ripe for urgent academic enquiry, yet the subject was a research backwater until the turn of the millennium. Even today, as tens of millions of young people spend their waking hours manipulating avatars and gaming characters on computer screens, the subject is still treated with scepticism in some academic circles. This handbook aims to reflect the relevance and value of studying digital games, now the subject of a growing number of studies, surveys, conferences and publications. As an overview of the current state of research into digital gaming, the 42 papers included in this handbook focus on the social and cultural relevance of gaming. In doing so, they provide an alternative perspective to one-dimensional studies of gaming, whose agendas do not include cultural factors. The contributions, which range from theoretical approaches to empirical studies, cover various topics including analyses of games themselves, the player-game interaction, and the social context of gaming. In addition, the educational aspects of games and gaming are treated in a discrete section. With material on non-commercial gaming trends such as ‘modding’, and a multinational group of authors from eleven nations, the handbook is a vital publication demonstrating that new media cultures are far more complex and diverse than commonly assumed in a debate dominated by concerns over violent content.

China's integration in the world economy is perceived as one of the major events in the world economy in recent decades. As a result of the large inflow of foreign direct investment (FDI), China has become one of the leading trade nations worldwide. China's opening to the outside world, privatization of state-owned enterprises, urban and rural industrial development, and pursuit of economic plus ecological policies (green GDP) are presented as key elements of the so-called socialist market economy of Chinese origin. The situation in China tends to present some very contradictory features: in terms of GDP per capita, China still belongs to the group of developing countries but, on the other hand, Chinese enterprises are set to become highly competitive - and active in the international business arena. China and the World Economy is a topic-oriented edition of the bi-annual journal, Berliner China-Hefte/Chinese History and Society, which analyzes issues related to China's integration in the world economy and the related impacts.
