Ten years ago I set out on a Spiritual Journey. Through the years I have lost friends, both my father and stepfather, and my favorite aunt, and most of all bad attitudes. Through it all I held on to Gods hand, and He continued to show me that with him I can truly conquer all things including the feat of becoming a whole woman. I learned that I am not defined by others, but I am defined by my love of self, others, and God. As a single mother and child of God I have endured many obstacles in my journey into self actualization and spiritual wholeness. Many times I would pray and ask the Lord why do I have to endure the pain and heartache that I am going through. God let me know that my pain was not in vain and that I needed to write down all the conflicts that I go through as a mother a single woman, and a child of God. These poems and words of wisdom are about how I as a Christian woman have endured trials, and how God has made me victorious over every obstacle in my life. I pray that my ability to be open and honest about my love for God, my love for myself, and my love for people as a whole will help someone who feels lost or confused about how to have peace and fulfillment in your journey with Christ. I was led to name my first book Spirit Train after the revelation that we are all on a Spiritual Journey to attain wholeness, and our souls are liken to a train. We will come to destinations in our life in which we will have to unload or allow some things to depart from our souls, and minds, and in return we will allow Gods attributes to come aboard and give us the spiritual, and self fulfillment that we so desire to attain. I give biblical reference to every poem I write I order or you to meditate not only on the poetry, but on the word of God that inspired the poetry. I have left extra space after each thought of the day in order for you to write down your own thoughts, and do some self exploration. I challenge you to take the Spirit Train, find out the will of God for your life, and move forward infaith, becoming the fulfilled, loving person that God already sees you as. Be blessed for these words are from my heart and they are inspired by the Heavenly Father above.

Don't board a train in the dead of night. More so if it runs with no lights, no whistle or sound of an engine. There will be no conductor to collect your ticket. In fact, you can't buy the fare at any station. However, the price of passage is higher than anything you would be willing to pay. If by taking a grievous wrong turn, one did, indeed, find themselves a passenger on this strange, nefarious conveyance, they might feel alone. That would not be the case however. In the absence of illumination, their fellow sojourners would appear if only to dissipate in the vaguest suggestion of light. An eight year old child is given a beautiful, but strange looking ornament on her birthday. The antique necklace has been held in the family for several generations just to be presented to her this day. By mere chance, she slowly becomes knowledgeable that the piece of jewelry contains great power. Over time, she learns that not only is it an amulet, but a talisman as well. In fact, in the right hands, it can bring back the dead. If not the dead per se, then the spirit of those long departed. Not only will they be coming back, but they will be taking a journey on the Ghost Train.

Many believe Max Steiner's score for King Kong (1933) was the first important attempt at integrating background music into sound film, but a closer look at the industry's early sound era (1926–1934) reveals a more extended and fascinating story. Viewing more than two hundred films from the period, Michael Slowik launches the first comprehensive study of a long-neglected phase in Hollywood's initial development, recasting the history of film sound and its relationship to the "Golden Age" of film music (1935–1950). Slowik follows filmmakers' shifting combinations of sound and image, recapturing the volatility of this era and the variety of film music strategies that were tested, abandoned, and kept. He explores early film music experiments and accompaniment practices in opera, melodrama, musicals, radio, and silent films and discusses the impact of the advent of synchronized dialogue. He concludes with a reassessment of King Kong and its groundbreaking approach to film music, challenging the film's place and importance in the timeline of sound achievement.

The abandoned Victorian house on Spirit Lane in Foxglove Corners, Michigan, has a strange reputation. At times it bursts into life with the bright lights, music, and laughter of a Christmas party in progress. Then, in the blink of an eye, all signs of a merry gathering vanish and the house is dark and silent again, the spirits having returned to another world. After hearing the story from her young friends, Dogfinders Jennifer and Molly, who are searching for a runaway collie puppy seen in the area, Jennet agrees to accompany the girls on a brief exploration of the alleged haunted house. But danger lurks in the empty rooms, and the discovery of a party favor suggests that the Christmas party really occurred. Soon after, the body of a young woman with a vague resemblance to Jennet is found on rusting railroad tracks on a slope above the house. Who was she? Who murdered her, and is this crime connected with the house and two cold case disappearances? After a series of mishaps Jennet uncovers the secret of the ill-fated party, unaware that she has attracted the attention of a person who has every reason to keep that event hidden. By now it is too late for Jennet to backtrack. She must confront and defeat a demented killer who is determined to add her to a growing list of murder victims.

How often do we truly find the time to reflect and dwell on our thoughts? And even when we do take a moment to read or absorb ourselves in thought, how often do we deeply meditate on our thinking or even revisit our understandings? In Spiritual Power in Motion, authors Ned Byron Pendergast and Lynne Pendergast Ferdon invite you to join them in writing down your own thoughts and ideas in this touching, heartfelt, and faithful collection of inspirational essays, poems, and reflections. Sharing their own quiet moments and meditations on such themes as emotion, healing, the majesty of creation, the character of our loving God, and more, Ned and Lynne express in words the life-giving power of the Holy Spirit in offering us daily revelations. God and his Holy Spirit are with us throughout this lifetime, and by taking time to listen for the Lord in prayer, we can hear, see, and feel this abiding presence each and every step on the way. But in order to hear Gods voice or words, we must also tell him of our need, be willing to listen, and have faith that our prayers are heard.
