About the Book Biblical Cures for the Wounded Spirit contains vital information that will answer many questions that those who suffer with PTSD and those close to them are asking. How does someone handle the grief experienced in combat? How does a spouse or other loved one handle the playing out of stress a combat veteran manifests when they return? Fear, guilt, no peace, and other issues are addressed. These are emotions that stir the soul and plague those who have experienced unimaginable trauma in a war zone or even in a violent home situation. Psychology and drugs are not the answer. New Age philosophy will not help. The Bible has the answers and will be found in these pages to be the solution that so many have been looking for. About the Author Saved at age 14 out of a broken, traumatizing home, Wayne A. Keast entered the Army at age 18 and discovered God’s peace in the midst of Army duty that includes deployment, and long stretches away from family. After years as an enlisted soldier, Wayne was called by God into the ministry out of German guard tour on a midnight shift. Finishing college and seminary, the Army received Wayne back as a commissioned officer and chaplain. After a deployment and after surgery, Wayne was in a rehab learning about war-time PTSD issues by listening to soldiers. After much bible study, Wayne learned of God’s cure for PTSD and how the inevitable wound can be treated successfully. Later, God showed Wayne a Bible verse that describes the issue. Proverbs 18:14 “The spirit of a man will sustain his infirmity, but a wounded spirit who can bear?” Wayne retired from the Army in 2012 with a burden for those with PTSD. This book is a compilation of the work completed in his Doctor of Ministry. With thought-provoking quotes, anecdotal essays, and comforting prayers, The Wisdom of Letting Go guides the reader toward a path of personal development through forgiveness and acceptance of oneself and others. Booth offers healing advice and inspirational messages on matters of love, codependency, spirituality, separation, divorce, sex, sickness, death, racism, and violence. “A rare combination of vivid science, compassionate storytelling, and lasting spiritual lessons. A delight to read.” –Philip Yancey Our bodies are designed to heal. We fall off our bikes and skin our knees—and without effort on our part, the skin looks like new in a few days. But while our skinned knees easily heal, it can sometimes feel like our emotional and relational wounds are left gaping open, broken beyond repair. If our bodies instinctively know how to heal physical injuries, could they also help us understand how to restore painful emotional and relational ruptures? In their groundbreaking debut book, physician Jennie McLaurin and scientist Cymbeline T. Culiat write Designed to Heal: a fascinating look at how the restorative processes of the body can model patterns we may adapt to heal the acute and chronic wounds of our social bodies. Through engaging patient stories, imaginative travels through the body’s microcellular landscapes, accessible references to current research, and reflections on the image of God, Designed to Heal offers a new perspective for healing our social divisions. By learning how the body is created with mechanisms that optimize a flourishing recovery from life’s inevitable wounds, we are given a model for hopeful, faithful, and enduring healing in all other aspects of our lives. Our wounds don’t have to have the last word.

Statistics from George Barna Research Group reveal that twenty-five to thirty million adults stay away from the Christian church because of hurtful treatment experienced at the hands of the body of Christ. Having gone through several church hurts himself, the author has written this book to be a practice guide on how to be restored, renewed and healed from church inflicted wounds so that one’s relationship to God is joyous and fruitful. From his own experience and documented research through surveys to pastor’s, church members and non-church goers, the author provides a training manual that churches and church leaders can use to reach and restore church members to a healthy relationship with God and His church. We all want the church to be a place where we can go to worship God with freedom and joy. We all want to be encouraged to grow in our faith and walk with Christ. We all want a place where we find joy in serving others, a place of safety and unconditional love. No one wants to be part of a church that acts like the world, treating people with judgment, condemnation, lack of ompassion and love. Church wounds happen but God is a restorer of the broken hearted. God is the great healer of our pain and disappointment. The author believes that if one takes the steps outlined in the book, there will be renewal and restoration. If churches reach out to those who have been wounded in the way outlined in this book, many will come back into fellowship with the Lord and His church.
