A new, fertile world. Exposed identities. Deep debt to a Mech Lord. After escaping with the information they needed, Kyle and his team must plan their next move. While working hard to discover many things about himself, his shipmates, and his denti body, Kyle finds not one... but three stowaways. An exotic female Kiain who helps him unlock his Kenosi potential, and a deadly Sitha mother protecting her young son. He doesn't throw them out of the airlock, but pirate and monster infested space isn't exactly the safest place to be raising a child. Now fully exposed to their overlords, Kyle doesn't hold back. He places a winning bid on several top tier Mechs in an obscure part of the galaxy. The final price leaves them with a mission they can't afford to turn down: they need to rescue the daughter of the local Mech Lord. The Global Revolt against the Raj and the Hidden History of the Singapore Mutiny, 1907 - 1915 In 1907, on the fiftieth anniversary of the Indian Mutiny, a global revolt against the British Raj was taking shape. Known as the Ghadar or Mutiny Movement, this global network launched an uprising in 1915 that spilled over into the snug British settlement of Singapore. Exactly 27 years before its fall to the Japanese in World War II, Singapore thus faced a mutiny by its garrison of British Indian Army soldiers or sepoys. Stoked by Indian rebels based in California, activists on a migrant voyage to Canada to contest its race laws, a German sea raider, and renegades preaching holy war, the 1915 Singapore sepoy mutiny fused several plots against imperial power in the region. This book reveals the hidden history of the mutiny and exposes the forces that converged on the small island enroute to the revolt against the British Empire in India. The story of the men and women behind the world-wide rebellion and the Singapore mutiny is brought to life in this thrilling non-fiction narrative that spotlights the legacy of the forgotten uprisings.

Problem Pictures written by PamelaGerrish Nunn and has been published by Routledge this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 2017-07-05 with Art categories.

During the Victorian period there developed a new anxiety about male-female relations and roles in modern society, as described by a member of the Athenaeum in 1858, ?the distinction of man and woman, their separate as well as their joint rights, begins to occupy the attention of our whole community, and with no small effect?. These essays examine Victorian painting in the light of this 'woman question' by analysing the change in representation of the family, romance, social issues such as emigration and colonialism, the use of the female nude and the traditions of portraiture, history-painting and still life. The art and artists are considered in a socio-political context, and the connections between Victorian sexism, racism and classism are examined. These essays bring to light much previously unknown work (especially by women) and reappraise many well-known paintings.

The Skull Of Alum Bheg written by Kim Wagner and has been published by Oxford University Press this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 2018-03-01 with History categories.

In 1963, a human skull was discovered in a pub in Kent in south-east England. A brief handwritten note stuck inside the cavity revealed it to be that of Alum Bheg, an Indian soldier in British service who was executed during the aftermath of the 1857 Uprising, or The Indian Mutiny as historians of an earlier era described it. Alum Bheg was blown from a cannon for having allegedly murdered British civilians, and his head was brought back as a grisly war-trophy by an Irish officer present at his execution. The skull is a troublesome relic of both anti- colonial violence and the brutality and spectacle of British retribution. Kim Wagner presents an intimate and vivid account of life and death in British India in the throes of the largest rebellion of the nineteenth century. Fugitive rebels spent months, even years, hiding in the vastness of the Himalayas before they were eventually hunted down and punished by a vengeful colonial state. Examining the colonial practice of collecting and exhibiting human remains, this book offers a critical assessment of British imperialism that speaks to contemporary debates about the legacies of Empire and the myth of the 'Mutiny'.
