This book addresses the notion posed by Thomas Kilroy in his definition of a playwright’s creative process: ‘We write plays, I feel, in order to populate the stage’. It gathers eclectic reflections on contemporary Irish theatre from both Irish theatre practitioners and international academics. The eighteen contributions offer innovative perspectives on Irish theatre since the early 1990s up to the present, testifying to the development of themes explored by emerging and established playwrights as well as to the (r)evolutions in practices and approaches to the stage that have taken place in the last thirty years. This cross-disciplinary collection devotes as much attention to contextual questions and approaches to the stage in practice as it does to the play text in its traditional and revised forms. The essays and interviews encourage dialectic exchange between analytical studies on contemporary Irish theatre and contributions by theatre practitioners.

Although computerized drug registration systems already exist, developing countries face problems from time to time in trouble shooting and maintenance of such systems as technical expertise from the system developer is often required. In an effort to provide a robust system which could be maintained and modified locally, WHO has developed a computerized drug registration system based on Microsoft Access R, one of the most widely used database systems, to increase the probability of finding local expertise for maintenance and troubleshooting. There are three parts to this user manual. Part 1 outlines the minimum requirements needed to set up and computerize the drug registration system. It then describes the drug registration and information system in general. An overview of the drug registration system with emphasis on the hardware and the software needed to install a computerized drug registration system - and finally, the data preparation requirements - are presented. Part 2 explains, in detail, how to install the application systems. A step-by-step guide is presented to aid the user during the actual installation process. Part 3 explains the details of the three subsystems under the Drug Registration System and Information System and provides in-depth illustrations on the use of the installed subsystems.

Over the years American—especially New York—audiences have evolved a consistent set of expectations for the "Irish play." Traditionally the term implied a specific subject matter, invariably rural and Catholic, and embodied a reductive notion of Irish drama and society. This view continues to influence the types of Irish drama produced in the United States today. By examining seven different opening nights in New York theaters over the course of the last century, John Harrington considers the reception of Irish drama on the American stage and explores the complex interplay between drama and audience expectations. All of these productions provoked some form of public disagreement when they were first staged in New York, ranging from the confrontation between Shaw and the Society for the Suppression of Vice to the intellectual outcry provoked by billing Waiting for Godot as "the laugh sensation of two continents." The inaugural volume in the series Irish Literature, History, and Culture, The Irish Play on the New York Stage explores the New York premieres of The Shaughraun (1874), Mrs. Warren's Profession (1905), The Playboy of the Western World (1911), Exiles (1925), Within the Gates (1934), Waiting for Godot (1956), and Philadelphia, Here I Come! (1966).
