Statistical Method From The Viewpoint Of Quality Control written by Walter Andrew Shewhart and has been published by this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 1939 with Quality control categories.
The application of statistical methods in mass production make possible the most efficient use of raw materials and manufacturing processes, economical production, and the highest standards of quality for manufactured goods. In this classic volume, based on a series of ground-breaking lectures given to the Graduate School of the Department of Agriculture in 1938, Dr. Shewhart illuminated the fundamental principles and techniques basic to the efficient use of statistical method in attaining statistical control, establishing tolerance limits, presenting data, and specifying accuracy and precision. In the first chapter, devoted to statistical control, the author broadly defines the three steps in quality control: specification, production, and inspection; then outlines the historical background of quality control. This is followed by a rigorous discussion of the physical and mathematical states of statistical control, statistical control as an operation, the significance of statistical control and the future of statistics in mass production. Chapter II offers a thought-provoking treatment of the problem of establishing limits of variability, including the meaning of tolerance limits, establishing tolerance limits in the simplest cases and in practical cases, and standard methods of measuring. Chapter III explores the presentation of measurements of physical properties and constants. Among the topics considered are measurements presented as original data, characteristics of original data, summarizing original data (both by symmetric functions and by Tchebycheff's theorem), measurement presented as meaningful predictions, and measurement presented as knowledge. Finally, Dr. Shewhart deals with the problem of specifying accuracy and precision -- the meaning of accuracy and precision, operational meaning, verifiable procedures, minimum quantity of evidence needed for forming a judgment and more.

Introduction To Statistical Quality Control written by Christina M. Mastrangelo and has been published by Wiley this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 1991 with Business & Economics categories.
Revised and expanded, this Second Edition continues to explore the modern practice of statistical quality control, providing comprehensive coverage of the subject from basic principles to state-of-the-art concepts and applications. The objective is to give the reader a thorough grounding in the principles of statistical quality control and a basis for applying those principles in a wide variety of both product and nonproduct situations. Divided into four parts, it contains numerous changes, including a more detailed discussion of the basic SPC problem-solving tools and two new case studies, expanded treatment on variable control charts with new examples, a chapter devoted entirely to cumulative-sum control charts and exponentially-weighted, moving-average control charts, and a new section on process improvement with designed experiments.

Once solely the domain of engineers, quality control has become a vital business operation used to increase productivity and secure competitive advantage. Introduction to Statistical Quality Control offers a detailed presentation of the modern statistical methods for quality control and improvement. Thorough coverage of statistical process control (SPC) demonstrates the efficacy of statistically-oriented experiments in the context of process characterization, optimization, and acceptance sampling, while examination of the implementation process provides context to real-world applications. Emphasis on Six Sigma DMAIC (Define, Measure, Analyze, Improve and Control) provides a strategic problem-solving framework that can be applied across a variety of disciplines. Adopting a balanced approach to traditional and modern methods, this text includes coverage of SQC techniques in both industrial and non-manufacturing settings, providing fundamental knowledge to students of engineering, statistics, business, and management sciences. A strong pedagogical toolset, including multiple practice problems, real-world data sets and examples, and incorporation of Minitab statistics software, provides students with a solid base of conceptual and practical knowledge.

Statistical Quality Assurance Methods For Engineers written by Stephen B. Vardeman and has been published by this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 1999 with Business & Economics categories.
The Tools You Need To Be A Successful Engineer As you read through this new text, you'll discover the importance of Statistical Quality Control (SQC) tools in engineering process monitoring and improvement. You'll learn what SQC methods can and cannot do, and why these are valuable additions to your engineering tool kit. And instead of overwhelming you with unnecessary details, the authors make the implementation of statistical tools "user-friendly." The rich set of examples and problems integrated throughout this book will help you gain a better understanding of where and how to apply SQC tools. Real projects, cases and data sets show you clearly how SQC tools are used in practice. Topics are covered in the right amount of detail to give you insight into their relative importance in modern quality assurance and the ability to immediately use them. This approach provides the mix of tools you'll need to succeed in your engineering career. Key Features of the Text * Provides a coherent presentation of the role of statistics in quality assurance. * Places special attention on making sure that while the technical details are absolutely correct, they do not overwhelm the reader. * Presents the material in realistic contexts, with examples and problems that are based on real-world projects, cases and data sets. * The implementation of statistical tools is user-friendly. * The statistical treatment emphasizes graphics and estimation (and de-emphasizes hypothesis testing).

This undergraduate statistical quality assurance textbook clearly shows with real projects, cases and data sets how statistical quality control tools are used in practice. Among the topics covered is a practical evaluation of measurement effectiveness for both continuous and discrete data. Gauge Reproducibility and Repeatability methodology (including confidence intervals for Repeatability, Reproducibility and the Gauge Capability Ratio) is thoroughly developed. Process capability indices and corresponding confidence intervals are also explained. In addition to process monitoring techniques, experimental design and analysis for process improvement are carefully presented. Factorial and Fractional Factorial arrangements of treatments and Response Surface methods are covered. Integrated throughout the book are rich sets of examples and problems that help readers gain a better understanding of where and how to apply statistical quality control tools. These large and realistic problem sets in combination with the streamlined approach of the text and extensive supporting material facilitate reader understanding. Multivariate Statistical Quality Control Using R written by Edgar Santos-Fernández and has been published by Springer Science & Business Media this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 2012-09-22 with Computers categories.
The intensive use of automatic data acquisition system and the use of cloud computing for process monitoring have led to an increased occurrence of industrial processes that utilize statistical process control and capability analysis. These analyses are performed almost exclusively with multivariate methodologies. The aim of this Brief is to present the most important MSQC techniques developed in R language. The book is divided into two parts. The first part contains the basic R elements, an introduction to statistical procedures, and the main aspects related to Statistical Quality Control (SQC). The second part covers the construction of multivariate control charts, the calculation of Multivariate Capability Indices.
