There once lived a farmer named Boise, his wife Alice, and their five children named Ryan, Bryan, Margaret, Elizabeth, and Devin. The family loves to take care of their animals where they sing songs every morning while doing chores. One day, Elizabeth's godmother gave her a duck as a present but figured that she did not want it and gave it to Devin, the youngest. Devin named the duck Stella. He took care of Stella and figured that she will have her own children soon. She then gave birth to a girl and 4 boys, all named by Devin. Devin was busy taking care of Stella when he noticed that he's been hearing voices from someone he cannot see then realized that it was Stella talking to him. The two kept it a secret and continued to enjoy each morning together with Stella's children until one day when Devin arrived home, he was told by his father that Stella and the babies have been sold and were no longer in the farm. Stella and Friends in West Valley journeys through an exceptional friendship, the challenges of growing apart, and the continuing hope of seeing each other again.

Since 1981, the Walk of Western Stars in Newhall, California, has commemorated beloved performers from Western film, television, radio, and music. Over the years, nearly 100 honorees have been memorialized in the sidewalks of Old Town Newhall with bronze saddles and terrazzo tiles. Each April, new inductees are added to the walk during the Santa Clarita Cowboy Festival. Santa Clarita, which includes Newhall, has a century-long history of Western film and television production that continues to this day. Newhall is the site of William S. Hart Park, where silent cowboy superstar William S. "Two Gun Bill" Hart, the first Walk of Western Stars inductee, had his retirement home. It is also the home of such Western gems as Melody Ranch, a film ranch once owned by Gene Autry that is still in operation. Melody is where Matt Dillon first stared down the bad guys in Gunsmoke, where Al Swearengen ruled over Deadwood, and where the hosts first became sentient in television's Westworld.

It S One O Clock And Here Is Mary Margaret Mcbride written by Susan Ware and has been published by NYU Press this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 2005-02-07 with Performing Arts categories.

One of the most beloved radio show hosts of the 1940s and 1950s, Mary Margaret McBride (1899—1976) regularly attracted between six and eight million listeners to her daily one o'clock broadcast. During her twenty years on the air she interviewed tens of thousands of people, from President Harry Truman and Frank Lloyd Wright to Rachel Carson and Zora Neale Hurston. This is her story. Five decades after their broadcast, her shows remain remarkably fresh and interesting. And yet McBride—the Oprah Winfrey of her day—has been practically forgotten, both in radio history and in the history of twentieth-century popular culture, primarily because she was a woman and because she was on daytime radio. Susan Ware explains how Mary Margaret McBride was one of the first to exploit the cultural and political importance of talk radio, pioneering the magazine-style format that many talk shows still use. This radio biography recreates the world of daytime radio from the 1930s through the 1950s, confirming the enormous significance of radio to everyday life, especially for women. In the first in-depth treatment of McBride, Ware starts with a description of how widely McBride was revered in the mid-1940s—the fifteenth anniversary party for her show in 1949 filled Yankee Stadium. Once the readers have gotten to know Mary Margaret (as everyone called her), Ware backtracks to tell the story of McBride’s upbringing, her early career, and how she got her start in radio. The latter part of the book picks up McBride's story after World War II and through her death in 1976. An epilogue discusses the contemporary talk show phenomenon with a look back to Mary Margaret McBride’s early influence on the format.
