Anfang Mai haben wir deshalb unseren Podcast "Spurensuche" gestartet, in dem wir Kommissare, Profiler, Forensiker, Psychiater, Aussagepsychologen, Gutachter, Gefängnisärzte und Anwälte treffen und im O-Ton zu Wort kommen lassen. Wir reden mit ihnen über die speziellen Herausforderungen ihres Berufs und über ihre spannendsten Fälle. Bei ihrer Arbeit geht es guten Kriminalisten nicht um Rechtfertigungen, sondern um Erklärungen. Nicht um Verständnis, sondern ums Verstehen. "Denn genauso wenig wie ein Herzinfarkt durch die eine letzte Zigarette ausgelöst wird, geschehen auch Verbrechen nicht plötzlich und grundlos aus einer einzigen unglücklichen Situation heraus", sagt die Gerichtsgutachterin Hanna Ziegert. Und der Fallanalyst Alexander Horn erzählt: "Wir versuchen nicht, wie Mörder oder Serienkiller zu denken, wir versuchen nur, ihr Handeln nachzuvollziehen." Die Arbeit von Experten wie Ziegert und Horn hilft, so viele Aspekte einer Straftat wie möglich aufzuklären. Nur so kann die Justiz zu einem angemessenen Ergebnis für Opfer und Täter kommen.
