For a dozen years, from 1950 to 1962, Stirling Moss was, alongside Fangio and later out on his own, the greatest driver of his day. He was the reference point in terms of driving skill, determination, pure speed and adaptability. Having been one of the first drivers who could be considered as a true professional, Moss, who was knighted in 2000, is still a familiar figure in historic racing and is famous on a world scale.
