At the end of 1960s and the beginning of 1970s, when the Russian version of this book was written, the 'general theory of random processes' did not operate widely with such notions as semimartingale, stochastic integral with respect to semimartingale, the Ito formula for semimartingales, etc. At that time in stochastic calculus (theory of martingales), the main object was the square integrable martingale. In a short time, this theory was applied to such areas as nonlinear filtering, optimal stochastic control, statistics for diffusion type processes. In the first edition of these volumes, the stochastic calculus, based on square integrable martingale theory, was presented in detail with the proof of the Doob-Meyer decomposition for submartingales and the description of a structure for stochastic integrals. In the first volume ('General Theory') these results were used for a presentation of further important facts such as the Girsanov theorem and its generalizations, theorems on the innovation pro cesses, structure of the densities (Radon-Nikodym derivatives) for absolutely continuous measures being distributions of diffusion and ItO-type processes, and existence theorems for weak and strong solutions of stochastic differential equations. All the results and facts mentioned above have played a key role in the derivation of 'general equations' for nonlinear filtering, prediction, and smoothing of random processes.

Multiparameter Processes written by Davar Khoshnevisan and has been published by Springer Science & Business Media this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 2006-04-10 with Mathematics categories.
Multi-parameter processes extend the existing one-parameter theory in an elegant way and have many applications to other fields in mathematics such as real analysis, functional analysis, group theory, and analytic number theory, to name a few. This book on the vast and rapidly developing subject of random fields is designed for a second graduate course in probability. Recent work on random fields has made it possible to make it an expository subject which interacts with several other areas in mathematics and has enough mathematical depth to be of use to pure as well as applied mathematicians of many backgrounds.

This volume contains refereed research or review papers presented at the 6th Seminar on Stochastic Processes, Random Fields and Applications, which took place at the Centro Stefano Franscini (Monte Verità) in Ascona, Switzerland, in May 2008. The seminar focused mainly on stochastic partial differential equations, especially large deviations and control problems, on infinite dimensional analysis, particle systems and financial engineering, especially energy markets and climate models. The book will be a valuable resource for researchers in stochastic analysis and professionals interested in stochastic methods in finance.

Stochastic Processes And Applications written by Grigorios A. Pavliotis and has been published by Springer this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 2014-11-19 with Mathematics categories.
This book presents various results and techniques from the theory of stochastic processes that are useful in the study of stochastic problems in the natural sciences. The main focus is analytical methods, although numerical methods and statistical inference methodologies for studying diffusion processes are also presented. The goal is the development of techniques that are applicable to a wide variety of stochastic models that appear in physics, chemistry and other natural sciences. Applications such as stochastic resonance, Brownian motion in periodic potentials and Brownian motors are studied and the connection between diffusion processes and time-dependent statistical mechanics is elucidated. The book contains a large number of illustrations, examples, and exercises. It will be useful for graduate-level courses on stochastic processes for students in applied mathematics, physics and engineering. Many of the topics covered in this book (reversible diffusions, convergence to equilibrium for diffusion processes, inference methods for stochastic differential equations, derivation of the generalized Langevin equation, exit time problems) cannot be easily found in textbook form and will be useful to both researchers and students interested in the applications of stochastic processes.

Random variation is a fact of life that provides substance to a wide range of problems in the sciences, engineering, and economics. There is a growing need in diverse disciplines to model complex patterns of variation and interdependence using random fields, as both deterministic treatment and conventional statistics are often insufficient. An ideal random field model will capture key features of complex random phenomena in terms of a minimum number of physically meaningful and experimentally accessible parameters. This volume, a revised and expanded edition of an acclaimed book first published by the M I T Press, offers a synthesis of methods to describe and analyze and, where appropriate, predict and control random fields. There is much new material, covering both theory and applications, notably on a class of probability distributions derived from quantum mechanics, relevant to stochastic modeling in fields such as cosmology, biology and system reliability, and on discrete-unit or agent-based random processes.Random Fields is self-contained and unified in presentation. The first edition was found, in a review in EOS (American Geophysical Union) to be “both technically interesting and a pleasure to read … the presentation is clear and the book should be useful to almost anyone who uses random processes to solve problems in engineering or science … and (there is) continued emphasis on describing the mathematics in physical terms.”
