My voice doesn't charm forest animals... It predicts death. That's right—I'm a banshee. And I’m locked up in Nightmare Penitentiary with no hope of escape. I don't expect to be rescued by handsome fae princes, either, since the last ones I had a crush on put me here. Now, the princes are here to rattle my cage, and they’re just as handsome and judgmental as I remember. I’d tell them exactly what I think about them, but in addition to stealing my freedom, they’ve taken my voice. **Stolen Song is a paranormal prison reverse harem romance.

Stolen Song documents the act of cultural appropriation that created a founding moment for French literary history: the rescripting and domestication of troubadour song, a prestige corpus in the European sphere, as French. This book also documents the simultaneous creation of an alternative point of origin for French literary history—a body of faux-archaic Occitanizing songs. Most scholars would find the claim that troubadour poetry is the origin of French literature uncomplicated and uncontroversial. However, Stolen Song shows that the "Frenchness" of this tradition was invented, constructed, and confected by francophone medieval poets and compilers keen to devise their own literary history. Stolen Song makes a major contribution to medieval studies both by exposing this act of cultural appropriation as the origin of the French canon and by elaborating a new approach to questions of political and cultural identity. Eliza Zingesser shows that these questions, usually addressed on the level of narrative and theme, can also be fruitfully approached through formal, linguistic, and manuscript-oriented tools.

Music is being stolen. From everywhere. Not just the printed pages and the crystals that playback music, but from the very minds of the people. The latest victim of this theft is the City-Along-The-Lake Opera Company. Their latest production is shut down opening night because no one can remember a single note or word of the opera. Allegra takes it worse than others. From her childhood she's been surrounded by music. Now that her clan from the Great Steppes is dead of a sleeping plague she has only the song memories left to remind her of who she is. But those memories scare her, she's afraid of the pain they will cause her. She has buried them under hundreds of other songs she's learned since then. Now that those songs are disappearing, the past is rising in her memories. Allegra tries to hide at home but when the isolation gets to her, she dons the disguise of Allegor, a traveling troubadour. One night, as she plays one of the few local songs she has left in her memory at a local tavern, she feels the music being stolen as she sings. She also sees a strange man in a traveling cloak, carrying what looks to be like a teapot made of crystal. She tries to talk to him but he escapes the tavern. Suspecting that this mysterious man may have something to do with the disappearing music, Allegra sets out in a pursuit that takes her far down the South Road. Using a magic map she tries to catch the music-thief. But she only has until the music-thief reaches Town-Where-South-Road-Forks. After that the magicked map will be useless and the thief will escape with all the music.

Penelope's Song of Blood & Stone is a treacherous, thrilling, epic fantasy about an outcast drawn into a war between two powerful rulers. The kingdoms of Elsira and Lagrimar have been separated for centuries by the Mantle, a magical veil that has enforced a tremulous peace between the two lands. But now, the Mantle is cracking and the True Father, ruler of Lagrimar and the most powerful Earthsinger in the world, finally sees a way into Elsira to seize power. All Jasminda ever wanted was to live quietly on her farm, away from the prying eyes of those in the nearby town. Branded an outcast by the color of her skin and her gift of Earthsong, she’s been shunned all her life and has learned to steer clear from the townsfolk...until a group of Lagrimari soldiers wander into her valley with an Elsiran spy, believing they are still in Lagrimar. Through Jack, the spy, Jasminda learns that the Mantle is weakening, allowing people to slip through without notice. And even more troubling: Lagrimar is mobilizing, and if no one finds a way to restore the Mantle, it might be too late for Elsira. Their only hope lies in uncovering the secrets of the Queen Who Sleeps and Jasminda’s Earthsong is the key to unravel them. Thrust into a hostile society and a world she doesn’t know, Jasminda and Jack race to unveil an ancient mystery that might offer salvation.
