The inspiring idea for the vision of writing this book was to give you the reader a new complete resuscitation on the birth and history of America of which I believe. The author was born in the early days of the Depression, thus having been raised during WW II and spent his youth at the time of President Harry S. Truman, later President Dwight Eisenhower. Now through the eyes of an everyday older American who spent most of his life in the trucking industry whose goal was to build and acquire a small trucking business, having a piece of the proverbial pie. Meanwhile building a home and to live happily ever after. In the process, the author would read and above all observe the changes in America, from the earlier ones back during the Depression, where hard work was the key to achievement and “proud to be an American” was more than words in a song. As a result the author now is old, bold, and audacious enough to try and bring what he has read about, observed, and believed as the real America, from the first English colonies before these noble men of imposing stature. As George Washington, Thomas Jefferson, and John Adams, then fell upon inferior men as Abe Lincoln, Richard Nixon, Bill Clinton, and the Bush dynasty, with many, many factors in between. This with all their underlings was for the author quite a vision of degeneration, from the once celebrated God-granted sovereignty for its citizens, We the People and the nation. The author hopes that God will somehow use this small effort to His glory.

Sovereignty is the vital organizing principle of modern international law. This book examines the origins of that principle in the legal and political thought of its most influential theorist, Jean Bodin (1529/30-1596). As the author argues in this study, Bodin's most lasting theoretical contribution was his thesis that sovereignty must be conceptualized as an indivisible bundle of legal rights constitutive of statehood. While these uniform 'rights of sovereignty' licensed all states to exercise numerous exclusive powers, including the absolute power to 'absolve' and release its citizens from legal duties, they were ultimately derived from, and therefore limited by, the law of nations. The book explores Bodin's creative synthesis of classical sources in philosophy, history, and the medieval legal science of Roman and canon law in crafting the rules governing state-centric politics. The Right of Sovereignty is the first book in English on Bodin's legal and political theory to be published in nearly a half-century and surveys themes overlooked in modern Bodin scholarship: empire, war, conquest, slavery, citizenship, commerce, territory, refugees, and treaty obligations. The emergent so-called “Fourth Industrial Revolution” is regarded by some as a panacea for bringing about development to Africans. This book dismisses this flawed reasoning. Surfacing how “investors” are actually looting and plundering Africa; how the industrial internet of things, the gig economies, digital economies and cryptocurrencies breach African political and economic sovereignty, the book pioneers what can be called anticipatory economics – which anticipate the future of economies. It is argued that the future of Africans does not necessarily require degrowth, postgrowth, postdevelopment, postcapitalism or sharing/solidarity economies: it requires attention to age-old questions about African ownership and control of their resources. Investors have to invest in ensuring that Africans own and control their resources. Further, it is pointed out that the historical imperial structural creation of forced labour is increasingly morphing into what we call the structural creation of forced leisure which is no less lethal for Africans. Because both the structural creation of forced labour and the structural creation of forced leisure are undergirded by transnational neo-imperial plunder, theft, robbery, looting and dispossession of Africans, this book goes beyond the simplistic arguments that Euro-America developed due to the industrial revolutions.

In this book, the author undertakes a postcolonial analysis of identities the Chinese state uses to confront world politics and globalization. Because these identities are created at the confluence of Western modernity and Confucian tradition, two elements that are continually reinterpreted themselves, the result is an ambiguity regarding the identities best suited to explain Chinese behavior. The author argues that this uncertainty is not a new condition but one that reaches back to end of the nineteenth century. It is by understanding this ambiguity surrounding identities that will in turn help present -day authorities predict the future course of Chinese behavior in world politics.
