Preparandomi a celebrare il mio Giubileo d’Oro come Donna Consacrata Missionaria, anche a causa della pausa vissuta nel 2020 per il lockdown, ho avuto l’opportunità di riflettere, pensare, fare memoria del mio vissuto, attraverso incontri con persone che, nei Paesi dove ho vissuto, mi hanno evangelizzato e mi hanno aiutata a diventare la donna in pienezza che sono attualmente. Mi sono sentita “a casa” in Congo, mi sono sentita “sorella” in Polonia, mi sono sentita “figlia” a Roma, nella mia Italia, a cui appartengo da sempre. Il cuore però ha camminato, ha attraversato la foresta equatoriale, ha solcato il deserto del Sahara, ha inseguito i passi della “neve” in Polonia, ha respirato il profumo della cristianità a Roma. Sono una donna realizzata, una grande pace del cuore mi accompagna, la fede in Dio Padre ha sostenuto il mio lungo cammino. E scrivendo ho rivissuto incontri, ho rivisitato luoghi che ho amato, ho rintracciato volti di uomini, donne, bambini, anziani, che hanno percorso con me un tratto di strada missionaria. Ringrazio vivamente il Signore, per avermi condotto a volte per strade difficili e impervie, ma solcate da aurore stupende e da tramonti indimenticabili. Il cuore vive, canta, ama, si riposa nella fedeltà di una vocazione vissuta nel profondo dell’anima con passione, condivisione di vita, sui passi dell’eternità.

Their mission was humble and simple: to reach the poor country people, who suffered from ignorance of their faith, a debased clergy, and poverty. In response, Vincent De Paul defined the vocation of his “Little Company” as preaching local missions for free, educating the clergy, and working to relieve the people’s poverty.
