Excerpt from Storia Delle Fonti del Diritto Romano Nell' accingermi a pubblicare una nuova edizione del mio Corso di storia del diritto romano, uscito alla luce in due vo lumi nel 1900 e nel 1902, mi e' parso opportuno di staccare la trattazione delle Fonti da quella del diritto privato; e di pre sentarla in un volume a parte. Lo svolgimento piu ampio che ho dato ad alcuni capitoli e le numerose aggiunte, nelle quali ho cercato con ogni cura di trar profitto delle altrui ricerche e dell'esperienza mia propria, hanno accresciuta alquanto la mole di questa parte del mio lavoro; cosi da renderla meglio adatta a formare da se materia di un libro apposito, che a servir d'introduzione ad un trattato generale. D'altro lato un nuovo manuale di storia delle fonti, meno succinto di quello altrimenti ottimo del Kipp, mi e parso che potesse riuscire di qualche utilita pei giovani; oltre che pei loro studi scolastici, anche per quelle ricerche piu ampie e libere, a cui la scuola aspira a dar guida ed eccitamento.
