AN ANTHOLOGY OF TRUE CRIME LOOKING BACK AT SERIAL KILLERS WHO USED STRANGULATION AS THEIR M.O. STRANGLER JOHN John Reginald Christie was a prolific serial killer active in England during the 1940s and 1950s. He murdered at least six women including his wife-and some believe this number is higher, as well as a baby-before being arrested, convicted, and hanged. He lured women to his flat under the guise of assisting them with some medical procedure such as abortion and strangled and raped them; oftentimes while they were unconscious or dead, thus giving rise to allegations that he was a necrophiliac. Christie also likely framed his neighbor Timothy Evans for the death of Evans' wife and infant daughter for which Evans was convicted and hanged. GIRL STRANGLER Most female serial killers use poison or a gun to dispose of their victims. Dana Sue Gray was one of the few who was a "hands on" killer, strangling numerous elderly women in the Southern California area in the early 1990s. But what led her to go on this murderous rampage that one police detective described as "the most brutal crimes I've ever seen"? Dana was a compulsive "shopping addict" who would steal her victims credit cards and speed off to the nearest shopping mall to indulge in her habit. A lifelong thrill-seeker and horror movie fan, Dana would succumb to her base impulses and become arguably the most violent female serial killer in modern times. HILLSIDE STRANGLERS Cousins Kenneth Bianchi and Angelo Buono, Jr. are collectively known by their media epithet "The Hillside Strangler." These two men were responsible for the murders of at least nine females, ages 12 to 28, during the late 1970s in Los Angeles, California, and Bianchi killed two more in Washington. After their first three victims did not gain much attention because they were prostitutes, Bianchi and Buono decided to abduct and murder middle-class "nice" girls. Five victims were found on hillsides in the Glendale-Highland Park area during Thanksgiving weekend in 1977 and the resulting panic led to the coining of the moniker "Hillside Strangler." SUFFOLK STRANGLER Steven Gerald James Wright was considered to be an ordinary, everyday English barman. Friends and family thought that his gambling addiction and his relationship issues were the brunt of his problems, but little did they know that was only scratching the surface of his nasty habits. He followed into the footsteps of the British serial killers that had come before him, like the legendary "Jack the Ripper," by primarily preying on the prostitutes of the red light district. BOSTON STRANGLER Albert DeSalvo, the infamous "Boston Strangler" is considered to be "America's first 'serial killer' of the modern era." He is responsible for as many as 13 women's murders in the Boston area between 14 June 1962 and 4 January 1964. Victims were as young as 19 and as old as 85. Whereas police did not believe that all of the murders were committed by the same person, the public was convinced that one person, dubbed "The Boston Strangler," was the sole suspect. ROADSIDE STRANGLER When one envisions a serial killer, they think of a cold, calculating, heartless monster. As humans, some of us have developed ways to recognize other humans that are looking to cause us harm. If we look at a mug shot of famous another serial killer, like Charles Manson or Jeffery Dahmer, one could say that these men "look" like serial killers. Maybe it's because of their wild eyes, the way that they hold themselves, or the "creepy" feeling one receives from their presence. These factors are enough to make a person stay as far away from the killer as possible, but sadly, not all predators come with a warning sign. Michael Bruce Ross, later to be known as the Roadside Strangler, was a ruthless predator that slipped under the radars of the multiple women that he attacked, raped, and murdered.

The riveting true crime account of the Hillside Stranglers and the horrific serial killings they unleashed on 1970s Los Angeles. For weeks that fall, the body count of sexually violated, brutally murdered young women escalated. With increasing alarm, Los Angeles newspapers headlined the deeds of a serial killer they named the Hillside Strangler. The city was held hostage by fear. But not until January 1979, more than a year later, would the mysterious disappearance of two university students near Seattle lead police to the arrest of a security guard—the handsome, charming, fast-talking Kenny Bianchi—and the discovery that the strangler was not one man but two. Compellingly, O’Brien explores the symbiotic relationship between Bianchi and his cousin Angelo Buono, their lust for women as insatiable as their hate, before examining the crimes they remorselessly perpetrated and the lives of the unsuspecting victims they claimed. Equally riveting is O’Brien’s account of the trial—one of the longest and most controversial criminal court cases in American history—with the defense team parading, one after another, expert witnesses who had been effectively duped by Bianchi’s impersonation of a man suffering multiple personality disorder. It’s one way a man might contrive to get away with murder. Like Truman Capote in In Cold Blood and Norman Mailer in The Executioner’s Song, Darcy O’Brien weds the narrative skill of an award-winning novelist with the detailed observations of an experienced investigator to unravel this chilling true-crime story.

The true story of Louisiana serial killer Ronald Dominique’s ten-year murder spree, the men he slayed, and the detectives who hunted him down. In 1997, the bodies of young African American men began turning up in the cane fields of the quiet suburbs of New Orleans. The victims—many of them transient street hustlers—had been brutally raped and strangled, but police had no leads on the killer’s identity. The murders continued, leaving southeast Louisiana’s gay community rattled and authorities desperate for a break in the case. Then, Detectives Dennis Thornton and Dawn Bergeron came together as task force partners, indefatigable in their decade-long effort to track down the killer. In 2006, DNA evidence finally linked the murders to a suspect: the unassuming Ronald Joseph Dominique, who had lived under the radar for years, working as a pizza deliveryman and meter reader. But who was Ronald Dominique and what led him to commit such heinous crimes? With direct access to the investigation, Dominique’s confession, and all of the killer’s body dump sites in throughout the state, author Fred Rosen enters the warped mind of a murderer and captures a troubled, disturbing, and broken life. As with the many other serial killers he has covered, including Jeffrey Dahmer (the Milwaukee Cannibal) and Dennis Rader (the BTK Killer), Rosen provides a horrifying and fascinating account of the lengths to which a bloodthirsty monster will go to lure and brutalize his victims.

Dumping Ground written by Brian Lee Tucker and has been published by Createspace Independent Publishing Platform this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 2015-05-12 with categories.

Los Angeles, the heartbeat, where sounds of lust and shopping swallow up catcalls, shameless bragging, screams of terror and delight, and from passing LAPD prowl cars darting down the San Diego Freeway comes the sad and lonesome wail of sirens--police sirens--the song of the city. The city streets are a carnival, it is burlesque. The city moves like an insect. It scurries. Neon beats against the window like a probe, even in the day. And somewhere, buried deep within this crazy world, are two killers who call this place home. Their hunting ground. Their dumping ground. One of them, a man whose birth given name was Kenneth Bianchi but whom his friends know as Ken, waits in the shadows sipping beer and smoking a cigarette and watching the show with delightful glee. These women - whether it be a Valley Girl or a lowly prostitute - all seem to remind him of his mother. His mother had been a prostitute who'd given him up as a child. When he first grew up and can remember, he was dressed as a girl by his mother, and he stayed that way for two or three years. And after that he was treated like what he would call the dog of the family. But that was long ago and far away; that was then and this is now. Tonight, his senses are accelerated and he can hear the pain and the sin on every street corner. It's like they were calling to him, for him and his cousin Angelo to end their pain and suffering once and for all. The world around him continues to live and breathe, and as he watches sinners kiss, as he watches them gambol and dance, he is reminded of why he's really here. DUMPING GROUND is an unflinching glimpse into the trail of their victims - from the victims point of view as well - and the aftermath that so aptly named them The Hillside Stranglers.

The story of a musical prodigy turned serial killer—including his shocking confession—is exposed in the L.A. Times bestselling author’s true crime classic. To the outside world, Anthony Allen Shore was an average guy: a twice-divorced father who drove a tow truck in suburban Houston. But in his mind he was a superstar. A musical prodigy who never realized his potential, Shore decided to outsmart society by getting away with murder. And he wanted the whole world to know it. After brutally killing a sixteen-year-old girl, he told the local NBC affiliate precisely where to find her body. Eight years passed before DNA evidence caught up with Shore. Subsequent police investigations revealed a violent megalomaniac who had sexually abused his own daughters. He confessed to murdering four females, one only nine years old. And he hinted at many more—leading authorities to suspect he might be the notorious “I-45 Serial Killer.” In Strangler, bestselling author Corey Mitchell recounts the case from its twisted beginnings to its chilling conclusion.
