Thermodynamic Mechanism Of Cryogenic Air Minimum Quantity Lubrication Grinding written by Liu, Mingzheng and has been published by IGI Global this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 2024-05-02 with Science categories.

The achievement of high-efficiency and precise grinding of difficult-to-cut metals—like titanium alloys—is essential in the aerospace industry. However, the process often results in thermal damage to the workpiece surface, posing a significant technical challenge. While minimum quantity lubrication (MQL) has been used to aid titanium alloy grinding, its effectiveness is limited by insufficient heat dissipation and lubrication. As an alternative to normal temperature air for carrying micro-lubricants, Cryogenic air has shown promise in improving oil film heat transfer and lubrication performance in the grinding zone, thus reducing workpiece surface thermal damage. The experimental state of the technology demands more comprehensive studies on its effectiveness and on the underlying mechanisms. Thermodynamic Mechanism of Cryogenic Air Minimum Quantity Lubrication Grinding addresses these challenges by providing a theoretical framework for understanding and optimizing cryogenic air minimum quantity lubrication in grinding processes, particularly for titanium alloys. It explores the physical characteristics of lubricants under cryogenic conditions, the influence of low temperatures on atomization effects, droplet formation dynamics, and heat transfer mechanisms within the grinding zone. By establishing quantitative relationships between cryogenic air parameters and lubricant properties, the book lays a foundation for enhancing the cooling lubrication mechanism of cryogenic air MQL in grinding processes. Researchers, scholars, and graduate students in universities and research institutes focusing on machining will find this book invaluable, as it goes beyond the theoretical insights into practical solutions to enhance grinding efficiency and reduce thermal damage.

The series Advances in Industrial Control aims to report and encourage technology transfer in control engineering. The rapid development of control technology has an impact on all areas of the control discipline. New theory, new controllers, actuators, sensors, new industrial processes, computer methods, new applications, new philosophies , new challenges. Much of this development work resides in industrial reports, feasibility study papers and the reports of advanced collaborative projects. The series offers an opportunity for researchers to present an extended exposition of such new work in all aspects of industrial control for wider and rapid dissemination. Hard disk drive systems are ubiquitous in today’s computer systems and the technology is still evolving. There is a review of hard disk drive technology and construction in the early pages of this monograph that looks at the characteristics of the disks and there it can be read that: “bit density... continues to increase at an amazing rate”, “spindle speed... the move to faster and faster spindle speeds continue”, “form factors... the trend...is downward... to smaller and smaller drives”, “performance... factors are improving”, “redundant arrays of inexpensive disks... becoming increasingly common, and is now seen in consumer desktop machines”, “reliability... is improving slowly... it is very hard to improve the reliability of a product when it is changing rapidly” and finally “interfaces... continue to create new and improved standards... to match the increase in performance of the hard disks themselves”.

Magnetic Bearings written by Gerhard Schweitzer and has been published by Springer Science & Business Media this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 2009-06-10 with Technology & Engineering categories.

Compiling the expertise of nine pioneers of the field, Magnetic Bearings - Theory, Design, and Application to Rotating Machinery offers an encyclopedic study of this rapidly emerging field with a balanced blend of commercial and academic perspectives. Every element of the technology is examined in detail, beginning at the component level and proceeding through a thorough exposition of the design and performance of these systems. The book is organized in a logical fashion, starting with an overview of the technology and a survey of the range of applications. A background chapter then explains the central concepts of active magnetic bearings while avoiding a morass of technical details. From here, the reader continues to a meticulous, state-of-the-art exposition of the component technologies and the manner in which they are assembled to form the AMB/rotor system. These system models and performance objectives are then tied together through extensive discussions of control methods for both rigid and flexible rotors, including consideration of the problem of system dynamics identification. Supporting this, the issues of system reliability and fault management are discussed from several useful and complementary perspectives. At the end of the book, numerous special concepts and systems, including micro-scale bearings, self-bearing motors, and self-sensing bearings, are put forth as promising directions for new research and development. Newcomers to the field will find the material highly accessible while veteran practitioners will be impressed by the level of technical detail that emerges from a combination of sophisticated analysis and insights gleaned from many collective years of practical experience. An exhaustive, self-contained text on active magnetic bearing technology, this book should be a core reference for anyone seeking to understand or develop systems using magnetic bearings.
