Die Einf hrung einer neuen Staatsform unter diesen besonderen Umst nden und innerhalb weniger Jahre war ein "bemerkenswerter Lern- und Wandlungsprozess"9, und brachte neben politischem und strukturellem Wandel f r Deutschland auch massive organisatorische und informationspolitische Probleme f r die Alliierten mit sich. Gleichzeitig fanden - gewollte oder ungewollte - Kulturtransfers statt, deren Folgen niemand absch tzen konnte, und die bis in die heutige Zeit nachwirken. Die Entnazifizierung und Demokratisierung Deutschlands durch die Briten und vor allem US-Amerikaner sowie die damit verbundenen Probleme, Diskussionen und Folgen sind Gegenstand dieser Arbeit. Die franz sische und die sowjetische Besatzungspolitik werden nur vergleichend gestreift, um den Umfang der Arbeit nicht zu sprengen. Ebenso soll diese Arbeit einen berblick ber die aktuelle und die immer noch aktuelle Forschungsliteratur geben. Eine detaillierte Gesamtdarstellung des Komplexes Besatzung-Entnazifizierung- Demokratisierung, ist in diesem Rahmen nicht zu geben - vielmehr sollen besondere Probleme und Zusammenh nge aufgezeigt, sowie zu weiterf hrender Forschung angeregt werden.
