The annual Joint Meeting of the FAO Panel of Experts on Pesticide Residues in Food and the Environment and the WHO Core Assessment Group on Pesticide Residues was held in Geneva, Switzerland, from 18 to 27 September 2007. The Meeting was held in pursuance of recommendations made by previous meetings and accepted by the governing bodies of FAO and WHO that studies should be undertaken jointly by experts to evaluate possible hazards to humans arising from the occurrence of pesticide residues in foods. This report contains information on ADIs, ARfDs, maximum residue levels, and general principles for the evaluation of pesticides. The recommendations of the Joint Meeting, including further research and information, are proposed for use by Member governments of the respective agencies and other interested parties.

During the 1990s, Suriname was subject to exogenous shocks that were exacerbated by inadequate macroeconomic policy responses. During that decade, fiscal and monetary policies tended to vastly amplify the effects of negative shocks to bauxite export receipts, leading to various episodes of nearhyperinflation. Output growth was also highly volatile, reflecting to some extent the countrys dependence on mining exports, but more so the highly inadequate macroeconomic policies. In recent years, the outlook has turned substantively more positive. The favorable external environment and the stability-oriented policies of the Venetiaan administration have boosted confidence in the economy, leading to increased investment, domestic economic activity, and employment. The 2019 Extra Joint FAO/WHO Meeting on Pesticide Residues (JMPR) was held in Gatineau/Ottawa, Canada from 7 to 17 May 2019. The meeting was opened by Mr Brent Wilson, Deputy Director of Technical Trade Policy, Department of Agriculture and Agri-Food of Canada. The Meeting evaluated 19 pesticides for toxicity or residues, or both. The Meeting estimated maximum residue levels and recommended them for use by CCPR, and estimated supervised trials median residue (STMR) and highest residue (HR) levels as a basis for estimating dietary exposures.

A Joint Meeting of the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO) Panel of experts on Pesticide Residues in Food and the Environment and the World Health Organization (WHO) Core assessment Group on Pesticide Residues (JMPR) was held virtually, from 6 to 17 September and the 4th and 7th of October, 2021. The FAO Panel Members held its pre-meetings in biweekly virtual preparatory sessions from July to September. The WHO Core Assessment Group had organized several preparatory sessions during 2020 and 2021. The Meeting involved 45 participants from five continents spanning most time zones. The Meeting evaluated 15 pesticides, including five new compounds and two compounds that were re-evaluated for toxicity or residues, or both, within the periodic review programme of the Codex Committee on Pesticide Residues (CCPR).
