Solar Subway Systems invented a way to stretch a wormhole between two points, allowing near-instantaneous travel not only between any two locations on Earth, but also between the planets and satellites of the solar system. SSS VP of Engineering Charles (Scotty) Hays and Chief Scientist Robert (Bobby) Taylor, along with field service genius Carol (Kaley) Sellers, have built SSS into a major multi-billion-dollar corporation. Unfortunately, the SSS portal system allowed a relentlessly hostile alien race to "dial in" to the portal system and launch an invasion. The attack was driven off, but the "Bugs" are still doin their best to forge an entry back to Earth. The invaders are now taking over pirate (unauthorized) portals built to take advantage of the solar-system-wide portal network, and have managed to sneak into hidden locations on Earth. Suddenly humanity's solar system is faced with a Bug invasion already spreading over Earth and also to Mars. Again called into service by the US Intersolar Command, Scotty, Bobby and Kaley must pull off miracles to stop this new invasion of Earth.

What began as a collection of psychic flyers found on the NYC subway system, soon turned into a freewheeling and far roaming investigation into the contemporary world of spiritualism. In an age of increasing uncertainty, digital answers are ever ready as part of the wave of modern mysticism that has swept in to fill the void left by shaky institutions and the effects of digital lives. The book weaves archival images, found ephemera, and narrative text that examines how spiritualism continues to thrive through scams, startups, self-care companies, and other lucrative industries.

Instantaneous Action At A Distance In Modern Physics written by Andrew E. Chubykalo and has been published by Nova Publishers this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 1999 with Science categories.

The so-far unanswered question of whether the movements of distance-separated objects are correlated in the way quantum physics requires or whether, according to Einstein, they can influence one another only by mechanical agencies travelling between them at speeds limited to that of light. It is to that still unanswered question that this present compilation of papers is addressed. The editorial approach is unusual in that in order to break the current conceptual deadlock and to encourage true innovation they have solicited inputs which are multidisciplinary. This open-ended venture is therefore perhaps more in line with what was once called Natural Philosophy than with what is currently known as 'Physics'. This is something of a departure for those who say that Physics no longer has anything to do with Philosophy. For there are physicists who believe that their predecessors have accomplished all the really important conceptual work on interpreting natural phenomena, so that there is no longer any call for radical revision in that direction. This leads to a constricted form of the discipline in which the purpose of all observation and experimentation is seen as simply to collect more and more information and fit it to conceptions which are traditionally 'cut and dried'. The emphasis is thus on presenting informed and carefully considered descriptions of natural phenomena, economizing as far as possible on interpretations in terms of entities which turn out to be no more than speculative.

In 1974 Rick Telander intended to spend a few days doing a magazine piece on the courtøwizards of Brooklyn?s Foster Park. He ended up staying the entire summer, becoming part of the players? lives, and eventually the coach of a loose aggregation known as the Subway Stars. ø Telander tells of everything he saw: the on-court flash, the off-court jargon, the late-night graffiti raids, the tireless efforts of one promoter-hustler-benefactor to get these kids a chance at a college education. He lets the kids speak for themselves, revealing their grand dreams and ambitions, but he never flinches from showing us how far their dreams are from reality. The roots of today?s inner-city basketball can be traced to the world Telander presents in Heaven Is a Playground, the first book of its kind.

An inspiring picture book biography of beloved author Madeleine L’Engle and the making of A Wrinkle in Time. When Madeleine L'Engle was very small, she often found herself awake at night, marveling at the stars. They guided her throughout her life, making her feel part of a big and exciting world, even when she felt alone. They made her want to ask big questions—Why are we here? What is my place in the universe?—and let her imagination take flight. Books, too, were like stars—asking questions and proposing answers. Books kept Madeleine company, and soon, she began to write and share her own. But would other people see the wonder she found in the world? Written by Madeleine's granddaughter Charlotte Jones Voiklis and bestselling picture-book author Jennifer Adams, A Book, Too, Can Be a Star follows the life of one of the world's greatest creators—and gives children encouragement to lead a creative, inquisitive life.
