Good teamwork ensures the close collaboration and coordination between professional groups and across disciplinary boundaries. This is particularly important in healthcare centres and clinics admitting complicated patient cases, but contrary to what many healthcare organisations seem to believe, effective teamwork does not happen automatically. It needs to be successfully trained and practiced. Teamwork in Medical Rehabilitation provides a guide to efficient teamwork in professional healthcare. Showcasing the practice of medical rehabilitation in Sweden, the book describes how to create, develop, nourish and organise a team. Medical rehabilitation in Sweden is a discipline filled by not only doctors and nurses, but also physiotherapists, occupational therapists, psychologists, social workers, speech therapists and dieticians. Using these multi-professional teams as clinical case studies, the book contains many practical examples from different rehabilitation care areas. This book will prove to be invaluable to healthcare professionals and students as effective collaboration is essential to good clinical outcomes. Managers will also find this a worthy read thanks to its understanding of how working conditions affect good teamwork.

Collaborative Clinical Education written by Jane Westberg, PhD and has been published by Springer Publishing Company this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 1992-11-15 with Medical categories.

This book is intended for those who are now, and those who intend to become, clinical teachers in the health professions. Its primary focus is the teaching of medical students and residents, but the principles discussed apply equally to teaching students in other health professions. The main focus is on the process of teaching--the strategies and tactics involved in helping others learn--and the authors discuss the generic steps, strategies, and principles of effective teaching that apply in any clinical setting. They do, however, draw numerous examples from clinical education in a variety of settings. The authors specifically stress the notion of collaboration, an issue closely related to the public's considerable dissatisfaction with the modern health care system. to create a more effective, responsive system, they argue, there is a need to change the ways that health care is provided and the way it is taught. A collaborative approach is needed in both health care and medical education, one that involves partnerships between clinicians and patients, and between teachers and learners. Also prominent throughout the book is the idea that clinical education can be planned and conducted in far more systematic ways than is now common. An overarching goal of the book is to provide readers with an enlarged set of options to consider using when faced with the inevitable multiciplicity of decisions confronting cllinical educators.

Collaboration Based Approaches written by Graham Martin and has been published by Cambridge University Press this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 2022-08-31 with Medical categories.

Collaboration-based approaches to healthcare improvement attract much attention. They involve networks of people coming together to cooperate around a common interest, with shared goals of improving care and mutual learning. Longstanding examples of collaborative approaches have been associated with some success in improving outcomes and reducing harm. The evidence for their effectiveness and cost-effectiveness, however, remains inconsistent and contingent on the circumstances in which they are deployed and how they are used for what purpose. Several models for collaboration have been developed, varying in structure, format, and balance between internal leadership and external control. The authors focus on two approaches: quality improvement collaboratives and communities of practice. They explore evidence of their impact on health outcomes, and evidence about how best to organise and implement collaboration-based approaches. Using examples of more and less successful collaborations, they offer guidance on the key challenges involved in using collaboration-based approaches to improve healthcare.
