El microrrelato o minicuento es un género, que puede decir o sugerir más que una novela de doscientas páginas. Puede resultar más amplio de ambición, más abierto. Respeto mucho la novela, porque es narración de largo aliento. El microrrelato es un género literario, con frecuencia sincopado en sus frases, que se está afincando en nuestra narrativa, al igual que lo han hecho los haikus japoneses en la poesía española actual. Su brevedad va con el ritmo de nuestro discurrir y trae a la memoria la máxima de Baltasar Gracián: lo bueno si breve, dos veces bueno. Disfruto cada día, que añado un breve cuento al conjunto de microrrelatos en marcha, atesorados en el ordenador. Casi con disciplina diaria. Los microrrelatos son diversos, dispersos, variopintos... Me propuse un total de alrededor de 200 microrrelatos y ha llegado el momento de editarlos, sabiendo que son variados en temática, ritmo o posición de la voz narradora. La fábula surge al paso de los días, al ritmo de encuentros, conversaciones, sentimientos, contradicciones, recuerdos o pura invención, tras la mirada, provocación, lectura o cierta extrañeza... Las fuentes son muy distintas. Escribir es una forma de hacer dietario. Tras un sueño, un roleo como voluta de capitel. J.S.A. (De la isagoge del libro)
