Science has its own language; the arts have another. Religion uses especially the language of the arts, for it uses signs and symbols, like bridges from the visible to the invisible, from the depths to the heights, from the earthly world to the heavenly one, from humanity to God. The symbol is not an object of worship, but invites to worship. It leads to the encounter with the divine. Its language takes an object or an action and from it evokes something other, which is often inexpressible, by virtue of some correspondence, natural association, or convention.--From publisher description.

This pamphlet or booklet is a humble attempt by the author to shine the light of Al-Islaam, the Holy Qur'an and the language of Imaam W. Deen Mohammed on the Book of Revelations. It is my sincere belief that the Holy Scriptures are interconnected and that the Holy Qur'an is the last chapter and the key to understanding all scriptures. I believe the vision seen by Dr. King in his "I have a Dream" speech will only be fulfilled in the religion of Al Islaam (Islam). The Islamic faith in my opinion is the New Zion. In this book I use the spelling Imaam for Imam, Islaam for Islam because I believe it gives the novice a better sense of how the words should be pronounced.

Spiritual Symbols explores the often-overlooked language of religious symbols across diverse faiths. It reveals the profound meanings embedded within these visual and conceptual representations, offering a unique lens to understand humanity's spiritual quests. Symbols, acting as powerful conduits of cultural knowledge, unlock deeper insights into religious texts and rituals. For instance, recurring motifs related to creation appear in various traditions, albeit with divergent interpretations. The book argues that understanding these symbols is vital for interpreting religious experiences and fostering interfaith dialogue. The book distinguishes itself by focusing on symbols often marginalized in mainstream religious studies, providing fresh perspectives on familiar and lesser-known spiritual traditions. It begins by establishing a foundation in symbolism, differentiating between signs, symbols, and archetypes, then progresses through sections examining symbols of creation, the human condition, and ritual practices. Drawing from primary religious texts, archaeological findings, and comparative mythology, the book provides a comprehensive guide for students of religion, spirituality enthusiasts, and anyone curious about the hidden meanings shaping our world.

The Truth Of Broken Symbols written by Robert C. Neville and has been published by SUNY Press this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 1996-01-01 with Religion categories.

This book provides a cross-cultural analysis of how religious symbols function from a theological and philosophical perspective. Showing how religious symbols can be true in various qualified senses, Neville presents a theory of religious symbolism in the American pragmatic tradition extending and elaborating Tillich's claim that religious symbols participate in the divine realities to which they refer and yet must be broken in order not to be idolatrous or demonic. The Truth of Broken Symbols offers a theory of religious symbolism treating reference, meaning, and interpretation, and discussing different functions of religious symbols in theological, practical, and devotional contexts. It shows that religious symbols are to be properly understood as true or false and that symbol-systems such as myths, theologies, or liturgical symbols are to be used to engage divine realities while internally exhibiting semiotic structures of reference, meaning, and interpretation.
