For many years, most people, including my sister and myself, were unaware that our mother's escape from Paris, France was necessitated by her being Jewish. Until the latter part of his career, most fans were unaware that Robert Clary was a Holocaust survivor who had spent 31 months in concentration camps. As Jews in Paris in the early 1940s, my family endured the entire spectrum of experiences resulting from Nazi occupation. Some members hid in their home towns without ever being arrested. Some were arrested and sent to concentration camps. Fortunately for her, my mother managed to escape and join the French Resistance in order to do her part to remove the menace to her normal existence. My Uncle Robert was not as lucky, but survived 31 months in 4 different concentration camps. Their biographies, "One of the Lucky Ones" and "From the Holocaust to Hogan's Heroes" give detailed accounts of their wartime experiences. Their survival took great courage and luck combined with a dash of talent in order to survive. Their greatest legacy, however, is not only learned by reading or hearing of their wartime experiences, but also by understanding how they refused to let their experiences keep them from living full, satisfying lives. In addition to enjoying life after the war, they both used their survival to help others make the most of their lives. "Talent Luck Courage" highlights their stories and explains how these two courageous individuals influenced my sister and me, the second generation of Holocaust survivors, to seek adventures of our own.

Both Nicole Holland and her younger brother Robert Clary (of "Hogan's Heroes") raved about their childhood in their four-room apartment on Ile St. Louis in Paris, France. Though not wealthy, their youth seemed rich as it was filled with love, laughter, and the joy they experienced with all their friends from Rue Des Deux Ponts. Unfortunately for them, that happy youth was halted when the Germans invaded Paris, demanded they be labeled "Juif" and denied them many of life's former pleasures, like going to the movies.By 1942 their stories veered into totally different directions. Along with members of their immediate family, Robert was arrested and sent in a cattle car to concentration camps. For thirty-one months, he survived incarceration in four different concentration camps. The sole survivor of the thirteen members of their immediate family, Robert told of his survival and his life after the war in his biography, FROM THE HOLOCAUST TO HOGAN'S HEROES. Unlike Robert and their family who were arrested, Nicole escaped from Paris to the south of France where she hid in the open as a Catholic girl named Pierrette Nicodem. Eventually, she joined the Forces Francaises de L'interieur-the French Underground-first as a courier and then joining the men to whom she'd supplied messages, guns, and ammunition as they traveled north liberating towns along the way.Like Robert, Nicole's indomitable spirit helped her survive the war and create a future without hatred, fear, and the devastation of war. ONE OF THE LUCKY ONES is Nicole's inspirational journey through a life she never expected.

I never thought about human's talent prior to having the opportunity to read about my granddaughters introduction to orthopedic surgery at Washington University in St. Luis. "I knew I wanted to be a physician since fifth grade, Dr. Lily Bogunovic. Rest is described in toto in my book. Word talent has been used in human's conversation for centuries without any deep meaning as humans talent deserve as a essential part of humans life as for every humans life direction and life purpose to be realized in period depending on the power of given talent as every electrical power that we are not able to see but only to observe it given fruits-result. What talent is no one can confirm with certainty because no one ever seen talent that is as I said like electrical power that we see not but what we see its light that is result of that invisible power. There are many different believe about what talent is and is no argument on my side because I do respect everybody's opinion and believe with assumption that talent is everybody's personal property as I do call gift that is given free but not with free responsibilities that are much expensive. Talent is as I intended to present as a power of love that is in the heart that must be born mainly in loving and carrying family where mother has essential importance together with fathers support. Born in Family and later dressed or better to say educated in education as a best way for the future of that given gift. Talent was dressed in education to be indoctrinated in society by providing adequate place for its activities. We must accept that talent is like Duracell batteries with limited lasting that must be utilize in given time. I personally worked 50 years as medical doctor to finish in time when I felt that here is no more power in my battery-my talent and that I am at present time alone in this world ready to retire. My goal is to share my experience with my children that are born with different talent to become and to enter our society ready for their life duty according to given talents. DPB.

What does it take to win success and influence? Some people think that in today’s hyper-competitive world, it’s the tough, take-no-prisoners type who comes out on top. But in reality, argues New York Times bestselling author Dave Kerpen, it’s actually those with the best people skills who win the day. Those who build the right relationships. Those who truly understand and connect with their colleagues, their customers, their partners. Those who can teach, lead, and inspire. In a world where we are constantly connected, and social media has become the primary way we communicate, the key to getting ahead is being the person others like, respect, and trust. Because no matter who you are or what profession you're in, success is contingent less on what you can do for yourself, but on what other people are willing to do for you. Here, through 53 bite-sized, easy-to-execute, and often counterintuitive tips, you’ll learn to master the 11 People Skills that will get you more of what you want at work, at home, and in life. For example, you’ll learn: · The single most important question you can ever ask to win attention in a meeting · The one simple key to networking that nobody talks about · How to remain top of mind for thousands of people, everyday · Why it usually pays to be the one to give the bad news · How to blow off the right people · And why, when in doubt, buy him a Bonsai A book best described as “How to Win Friends and Influence People for today’s world,” The Art of People shows how to charm and win over anyone to be more successful at work and outside of it.

The Mystery Of Courage written by William Ian Miller and has been published by Harvard University Press this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 2009-07-01 with Psychology categories.

Few of us spend much time thinking about courage, but we know it when we see it--or do we? Is it best displayed by marching into danger, making the charge, or by resisting, enduring without complaint? Is it physical or moral, or both? Is it fearless, or does it involve subduing fear? Abner Small, a Civil War soldier, was puzzled by what he called the "mystery of bravery"; to him, courage and cowardice seemed strangely divorced from character and will. It is this mystery, just as puzzling in our day, that William Ian Miller unravels in this engrossing meditation. Miller culls sources as varied as soldiers' memoirs, heroic and romantic literature, and philosophical discussions to get to the heart of courage--and to expose its role in generating the central anxieties of masculinity and manhood. He probes the link between courage and fear, and explores the connection between bravery and seemingly related states: rashness, stubbornness, madness, cruelty, fury; pride and fear of disgrace; and the authority and experience that minimize fear. By turns witty and moving, inquisitive and critical, his inquiry takes us from ancient Greece to medieval Europe, to the American Civil War, to the Great War and Vietnam, with sidetrips to the schoolyard, the bedroom, and the restaurant. Whether consulting Aristotle or private soldiers, Miller elicits consistently compelling insights into a condition as endlessly interesting as it is elusive.
