Talking The Walk Walking The Talk written by Marc Shell and has been published by Fordham Univ Press this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 2015-09-01 with Literary Criticism categories.

This book argues that we should regard walking and talking in a single rhythmic vision. In doing so, it contributes to the theory of prosody, our understanding of respiration and looking, and, in sum, to the particular links, across the board, between the human characteristics of bipedal walking and meaningful talk. The author first introduces the philosophical, neurological, anthropological, and aesthetic aspects of the subject in historical perspective, then focuses on rhetoric and introduces a tension between the small and large issues of rhythm. He thereupon turns his attention to the roles of breathing in poetry—as a life-and-death matter, with attention to beats and walking poems. This opens onto technical concepts from the classical traditions of rhetoric and philology. Turning to the relationship between prosody and motion, he considers both animals and human beings as both ostensibly able-bodied creatures and presumptively disabled ones. Finally, he looks at dancing and writing as aspects of walking and talking, with special attention to motion in Arabic and Chinese calligraphy. The final chapters of the book provide a series of interrelated representative case studies.

Disruptive Ideas written by Leandro Herrero and has been published by Meetingminds Publishing this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 2008 with Business & Economics categories.

In a time when organisations simultaneously run multiple corporate initiatives and large change programmes, Disruptive Ideas tells us that - contrary to the collective mindset that says that big problems need big solutions - all you need is a small set of powerful rules to create big impact. In his previous book, Viral ChangeTM, Leandro Herrero described how a small set of behaviours, spread by a small number of people could create sustainable change. In this follow-up book, the author suggests a menu of 10 'structures', 10 'processes' and 10 'behaviours' that have the power to transform an organisation. These 30 disruptive ideas can be implemented at any time and at almost no cost; and what's more...you don't even need them all. But their compound effect - the 10+10+10 maths - will be more powerful than vast corporate programmes with dozens of objectives and efficiency targets... This book will appeal to people at different levels of management or leadership, who want to reshape their culture by enhancing working practices and in general aiming at greater organisational effectiveness. Its practical nature will appeal to all who want to implement key ideas that have the power to transform any organisation, without having to embark upon a massive change management programme.

Walk The Talk written by Shekhar Gupta and has been published by Rupa Publications this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 2017 with Political Science categories.

In the fourteen years of NDTV's Walk The Talk Shekhar Gupta has interviewed more than 600 stellar guests-an outstanding feature for one of Indian TV news channel's most respected shows is the wide diversity of its guests. These range from heads of states to national, regional and international politicians and public figures, from Indian and global film stars to Nobel Laureates, scientists, economists, sports stars (not limited to cricket), spiritual gurus, business tycoons, philanthropists and, of course, activists. This book focuses exclusively on political leaders and public figures. Many of these conversations are path-breaking, and some extremely rare. For example, leaders like Sonia Gandhi and former prime minister P.V. Narasimha Rao have never before engaged in freewheeling, recorded conversations in such detail. Others have broken new ground since-Narendra Modi, L.K. Advani, Pranab Mukherjee, Mayawati and even M. Karunanidhi. There are also global thought leaders and heads of state: David Cameron, Henry Kissinger, and Pushp Kamal Dahal 'Prachanda', among others. There is also the rarest of rare interviews with the former RSS chief K.S. Sudarshan. It was challenging to choose just twenty-five political personalities and voices to feature in this selection. And one criterion has been to try and pick those conversations that mark political shifts and change. Hopefully, these will help provide an understanding of recent political history, and how we have reached the point we are at today, in the words of these very significant and interesting people.
