Starting in early medieval times, this book establishes a strong chronological spine, with later enquiries looking at changes in Wales thematically. A wide range of sources and interpretations encourage pupils to think like historians, using evidence to consider change and continuity, cause and consequence. End-of-topic Activities build towards more in-depth end-of-enquiry Review and Research tasks. All activities and tasks enable each pupil to move through their individual learning journey towards their next 'Progression step'. Understanding events and issues in Wales and the wider world - and the development of Wales as a multicultural society - will help pupils to become ethical, informed citizens.

A complete introduction and guide to the latest developments in cancer gene therapy-from bench to bedside. The authors comprehensively review the anticancer genes and gene delivery methods currently available for cancer gene therapy, including the transfer of genetic material into the cancer cells, stimulation of the immune system to recognize and eliminate cancer cells, and the targeting of the nonmalignant stromal cells that support their growth. They also thoroughly examine the advantages and limitations of the different therapies and detail strategies to overcome obstacles to their clinical implementation. Topics of special interest include vector-targeting techniques, the lessons learned to date from clinical trials of cancer gene therapy, and the regulatory guidelines for future trials. Noninvasive techniques to monitor the extent of gene transfer and disease regression during the course of treatment are also discussed.

The Soviet Union written by Tania Raffass and has been published by Routledge this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 2012 with Political Science categories.

The Soviet Union is often characterised as nominally a federation, but really an empire, liable to break up when individual federal units, which were allegedly really subordinate colonial units, sought independence. This book questions this interpretation, revisiting the theory of federation, and discussing actual examples of federations such as the United States, arguing that many federal unions, including the United States, are really centralised polities. It also discusses the nature of empires, nations and how they relate to nation states and empires, and the right of secession, highlighting the importance of the fact that this was written in to the Soviet constitution. It examines the attitude of successive Soviet leaders towards nationalities, and the changing attitudes of nationalists towards the Soviet Union. Overall, it demonstrates that the Soviet attitude to nationalities and federal units was complicated, wrestling, in a similar way to many other states, with difficult questions of how ethno-cultural justice can best be delivered in a political unit which is bigger than the national state.
