The workforce crisis is here—and retaining your best employees is no longer optional. In Targeting Turnover, Dick Finnegan draws on decades of experience and groundbreaking data to reveal a stark truth: the US is running out of workers. As baby boomers retire and birthrates fall, the only sustainable path forward is to keep the good employees you already have. This book offers a proven, research-backed strategy for doing just that—by building trust between employees and their immediate supervisors. Forget one-size-fits-all solutions like pay and perks. The top predictor of retention and engagement is whether employees trust their boss. Yet most first-line leaders have never been trained—or held accountable—for building that trust. Finnegan delivers a call to action: make employee retention an executive-driven priority and equip your leaders to lead differently. You will learn how to do the following: Use stay interviews and practical tools to reduce turnover Hold managers accountable for engagement and retention Understand the real costs of attrition—and how to reverse them Apply forecasting and metrics to drive leadership behavior At a time when there are fewer workers and more complex employee needs, Targeting Turnover gives leaders the tools to stabilize teams, improve performance, and face the workforce future with confidence.

Each section on a specific biology or class of drugs has an introductory chapter written by an authority in the field, exclusively focused on the science and its relevance to cancer biology. This approach addresses the need for scientists, physicians, and the private sector to understand the broader context of the extraordinary advances that have produced such astonishing advances in the disease. The work primarily focuses on how to understand and translate fundamental principles of basic science into information that can be directly applied to patients – hence the subtitle, From Concept to Practice. To aid in readers’ comprehension, the first page of each chapter contains a box entitled ‘Take Home Points’. This short text will highlight the major unique points about the information contained within the chapter. Some of the key topics addressed in the work are as follows: Biological basis of the lymphoid malignancies: fundamental principles of lymphomagenesis and molecular classification of lymphoid malignancies Targeting programmed cell death: principles for understanding the many types of cell death and promising combinations of drugs targeting apoptosis Targeting the PI3K pathway: understanding the intricacies of this complex biology and precisely how targeted drugs can be leveraged therapeutically Targeting the cancer epigenome: pharmacologic features of drugs targeting the epigenome and future prospects for targeting various aspects of epigenetic control Targeting the tumour proteome: understanding the mechanisms of protein degradation in cancer including both older drugs like proteasome inhibitors, and newer PROTAC based approaches Written primarily for scientists and physicians in both the public and private sectors, Targeting Oncogenic Drivers and Signaling Pathways in Lymphoid Malignancies: From Concept to Practice is a comprehensive reference work for those interested in the growing area of Precision Cancer Therapies. Targeting The Wnt Pathway In Cancer written by Kathleen H. Goss and has been published by Springer Science & Business Media this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 2011-01-25 with Medical categories.

Inappropriate activation of the Wnt signaling pathway is observed in many human cancers and is sufficient to drive tumor initiation and progression in numerous contexts. Multiple mechanisms, such as overexpression of Wnt ligands, inactivation of the APC and Axin tumor suppressors, and mutation of -catenin, are responsible for pathway activation in tumor cells. The development of potent Wnt pathway antagonists for therapeutic use has been a major effort for investigators in both academia and industry in recent years. This book will provide an overview of the Wnt pathway as a therapeutic target for cancer, and discuss the preclinical development of inhibitors specifically directed to upstream and downstream components of the pathway.

The Role Of The Exchange Rate In Inflation Targeting Emerging Economies written by Anna Nordstrom and has been published by International Monetary Fund this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 2009-11-24 with Business & Economics categories.

This paper explores the role of exchange rates in emerging economies with inflation-targeting regimes, an issue that has become especially germane during the current episode of financial turmoil and volatile capital flows. Under inflation targeting, the interest rate is the main monetary policy tool for influencing activity and inflation, and there is little agreement about the appropriate role of the exchange rate. The exchange rate is a more important monetary policy tool for emerging economies that have adopted inflation targeting than it is for inflation-targeting advanced economies. Inflation-targeting emerging economies generally have less flexible exchange rate arrangements and intervene more frequently in the foreign exchange market than their advanced economy counterparts. The enhanced role of the exchange rate reflects these economies' greater vulnerability to exchange rate shocks and their less developed financial markets. However, their sharper focus on the exchange rate may cause some confusion about the commitment of their central banks to achieve the inflation target and may also complicate policy implementation. Global inflation pressures, greater exchange rate volatility, and the financial stresses from the global financial turmoil that began in mid-2007 are heightening these tensions.

Corporate Governance Regimes written by Joseph McCahery and has been published by Oxford University Press, USA this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 2002 with Business & Economics categories.

Corporate Governance Regimes addresses corporate law's leading question: whether one or another corporate law regime possesses relative competitive advantage. To this end, the editors have brought together an international team of scholars in economics and law to critically assess the new theories of ownership and control which seek to explain the important efficiency advantages of dispersed ownership and the inevitable limitations of control-oriented systems of governance. Contributors describe and analyse the relative strength of the forces that shape the evolution of corporate law rules and practice. They also raise the issue of whether nations undertaking reforms should develop corporate governance policies that borrow from other systems' best practices, or pursue a course of internally designed corporate governance reforms. And, building on new theories of law and finance, they examine the incentives for introducing meaningful corporate governance reforms that disrupt or destabilize Europe's blockholding regimes. The collection is divided into seven parts. Part One provides not only a means for assessing the key features of market- and control-based systems of governance but a standpoint for determining whether national governance systems are likely to converge on a single, optimal system of governance. Part Two introduces the reader to the building blocks of European corporate governance and the securities law harmonization program. Part Three examines the complex ownership and control structures that are found in Western Europe, investigating the consequences of large shareholdings for minority investors. Part Four offers law and finance analyses of the relationship between legal and financial systems and corporate performance. Part Five looks at the economic perspective on the operation of the market for corporate control and the key legal rules and institutions of the bankruptcy and insolvency regimes in the USA and Britain. Part Six is devoted to exploring the economic effect of institutional shareholder participation in corporate governance in the USA, Britain, and continental Europe. The final section, Part Seven, evaluates empirically the executive compensation arrangements in the USA, Britain, and continental Europe. The contributions supply a pool of current research on the motivational effect of performance-related remuneration and the substantial increase in top executive remuneration in the USA.
